“Placemaking” works best when it is citizen driven. If the community is not drawn to, or sees no value in, the improvement or activity, it will likely be a waste of time, money, and energy. The goal is to fund and implement local projects that are supported by members of the local community and in which they can personally participate.

Laura’s one-of-a-kind personality and passion for approaching things from a different perspective is the key to her success as a real estate professional and community leader. She has more than three decades of real estate experience and involvement in the Jackson community.
Laura’s experience and knowledge are unmatched, but what sets Laura apart from others is her creative vision and ability to communicate and empathize. She understands that people have individual needs, desires, goals, and ideas. By concentrating on them, she is able to help focus on what is important, what matters, and what the individual wants to see accomplished. She then helps them understand and analyze the options, and get them to cooperate and collaborate in the process of seeking and implementing creative solutions.
Laura is the Broker/Owners of Thinking Real Estate, a Michigan real estate brokerage firm, and is co-owner and “CIO” (Chief Idea Officer) of the Placemaking company Think Jackson.
She is a national trainer for the National Association of REALTORs, specializing in Buyer Agency education; was one of five national trainers for Prudential Real Estate Affiliates; and, she has several recognized national certification in the real estate field. Laura also serves as a City Councilperson in Jackson, Michigan.

Jacque’s attention to detail and ability to coordinate and implement any size project makes her the individual you want on your team. She knows how to juggle many projects at once and has an uncompromising drive for success. Her remarkable dedication and work ethic are part of her DNA, starting in her early teens as she worked her way up from the “mailroom” in her mother’s real estate company, to managing the family real estate business and real estate school.
Jacque has an unique ability to take a small idea, whether it is her own or someone else’s, and make it a bigger than life reality. She has a passion for her home town, Jackson, Michigan, and it shows in everything she does. She believes that she can make a difference in her community on a larger scale by implementing local, collaborative projects that create vibrancy and excitement in the community. Jacque has acquired a reputation that, if she is involved, the job will get done, done right, and done well.
Jacque is co-owner of the Placemaking company, Think Jackson; Quality Manager and a real estate agent of Thinking Real Estate, Quality Manager of Orange Door Properties; Director of Professional Learning Network, a state-approved proprietary real estate school; Event Co-Director or Bright Walls Mural Festival; and, has a Masters of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan Taubman College.
