About Me

My name is Rob Humphreys, I'm a father of five, a husband of one, a singer/songwriter, musician, music-lover, spirit seeker, ex-worship pastor, ex-West Australian, new South Australian, information junkie and recovering naval-gazer.  I also love coffee...too much.

I have a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Youth Work) from Tabor Institute of Higher Education in Millswood, Adelaide, South Australia.

This space is dedicated to exploring the concepts of violence in society and how that informs youth workers and people endeavouring to enter youth work practice.

When I first started thinking about violence in society I assumed it to be an easy, cut and dry subject.  I quickly discovered it is not.  Neither personally, nor publically.  Having said that, it does seem that society at large spends precious little time 'thinking it through'.

I am, as you maybe are too, slowly wrapping my head around what subscribing to a narrow, or a broad, concept of violence means.  Here's to the journey!
