ThingsCamp Online is an online unconference for the Internet of Things (IoT).
Anyone can take part, either running or participating in a session. Share something you know about and learn from other people. Or learn together if there's something you'd like to explore in a group. You can learn more about the background and themes here.
These instructions are all you need to get involved in ThingsCamp Online. There's an additional page of resources and a page for ideas to get you started here. You can contact us with any questions you have.
You don't need any technical skills or equipment to take part. ThingsCamp is all about exploring technology together. Similarly, if you're highly skilled and have lots of equipment we'd love you to take part and share what you know.
1. Join us online at 5pm UK time on April 9th to talk about the event and answer any questions. We'll record the call and link to it from this site in case you can't be there at that time. You'll get a link for the call sent to you if you sign up using this form.
2. Pitch your session idea(s) on the spreadsheet on this page or look for session ideas you might want to sign up to. The session grid is already open if you want to pitch a session before the launch.
3. Get a group of people together and decide how to run your session or how to participate in one. There's a whole page of suggestions here for organising, and running a session.
4. Run your session (we recommend keeping it to between 30 and 45 minutes long). Please record it in some way (ideas for that here too).
5. Decide if you want a follow-up session (to report back on a project or to run the same session with a different group of people. If you do just add another into the grid or organise a time with your participants.
6. Whatever you do make sure that all your sessions are finished by the end of April 12th in your timezone.
7. Tell us where your session is recorded or captured by sending us a link (contact methods for this here).
8. Join us for a special summary of sessions at 5pm UK time on April 13th. This session will also be recorded and you'll get a link for the call sent to you.
