I’ve been going to the Bristol Renaissance Faire regularly since I was a teenager. And given my current age, that’s an awful number of years! But stop being nosy and asking all these questions; you don't need to know how many years it's been for me- just take from me that despite this long time period at the faire I never cease discovering something new and delightful. As a first-time visitor to the Bristol Renaissance Faire, I found that there was way too much going on. There are so many shows and attractions for all ages. It’s almost overwhelming! But after reading this incredible guide written by an “insider,” which is packed with valuable tips, tricks and secrets from one of my favorite people in New England (yes we know it's you), then venturing into the faire became easier than ever before thanks to her help here at The Insider Guide For Families To The Bristol Renaissance Faire !!!
"I recommend visiting General Admission booths first," she wrote me about how best break up your time when exploring everything within our medieval village." You'll find vendors selling arm and armor, leather wares, Instruments and more.
You should buy your tickets early to get the best deal. You can buy full-price at the gate, but insiders know how to take advantage of discounts! Kids 5-12 pay less than adults and kids four and under are always FREE if you attend regularly throughout the season - so consider buying a Season Pass. Season pass starts at $160. children 4 and under have FREE admission. Children 5-12 are only $10 and adults are just under $25 for a day pass.
You may be thinking of the heat and sweat you’ll experience in your Elizabethan costume this summer, but did you know that there are ways to escape it? For a limited time only (until September 17), Friends of Faire Garden members can get daily admission for just $5. The garden is open from 10 AM – 4 PM on weekdays where they have live music with outdoor seating or shade available if needed!
Feasting and revelry during July and August can create some hot, sweaty situations - even without wearing an elaborate Elizabethian outfit. Fortunately for those who want to take advantage while escaping the equatorial weather conditions often found at Renaissance festivals like ours, we offer one-day admissions into our Friends Of Faire Garden. For parents who have to lug around huge diaper bags of supplies all day and purchase endless bottles of water, the Friends of Faire Garden is a welcome relief. The shaded pavilion with seating offers respite from sunburns in addition to Gatorade and free water that's available throughout the festival grounds. Parents can also enjoy private dressing rooms for cosplay enthusiasts or even take advantage of their new baby changing station complete with port-a-johns (aka restrooms). This little oasis just might be your favorite part about attending this year!
The personal needs of fairgoers are well-served, including the need for a restroom. The porta potties with handwashing stations have two locations throughout the grounds and there is also an additional location that has private family restrooms equipped with changing tables. For those who would rather not use these facilities, please make note of their existence because they're right next to one another; just head over by Flushable Privie 1 or 2 as you enter near Ponyville Square between our entrance gates on your left side if it's convenient at all possible! Attendants from time to time will be found in them keeping things tidy so always remember to thank them for their efforts when you can—just give 'em a little something extra like some spare change.
Your admission ticket is like a doorway to the world's most exciting event. From awe-inspiring acts and breathtaking spectacles, this show won't disappoint! Along with admiring all of these attractions there are still some important things you need to know before attending. To make sure your trip runs smoothly in case anything unexpected comes up we recommend bringing cash on hand for food and beverages as well as parking if needed (both available but at an additional fee). You'll also want enough money saved up that can be used for tipping performers after their performance since it isn't included in your purchase price - they're always so grateful when you do this too! There will surely be something new awaiting visitors each day so get ready because it's go time
The Bristol Renaissance Faire is a place where you not only get to enjoy the sights and sounds of old world England, but also immerse yourself in its culture. With dancers, acrobats, musicians and singers from all over the country there's something for everyone! Some entertainment might be too much for little ones- so please visit our website before going to see what shows are right for your family or group.
The variety of stages with performances at The Bristol Renaissance Faire will leave you breathless; dancing gypsies may amaze audiences with their feet breaking tricks while jugglers sparkles gold coins into hoops hung high above them on strings connecting one another by an even longer string overhead spanning out across grandstands set up around them. I had the opportunity to meet a number of performers and get their autographs before they went onstage. I also learned some interesting facts about them that's not included in any other guide book, like how one performer has been on Broadway for six years.
These entertainers are really nice people who work hard at what they do! They're always doing something with the crowd near stage, so you can talk to them yourself beforehand if need be--I even got an autograph from someone up there too just because he was walking around when we were talking.
Gypsy Geoff is a man of many talents. His show features juggling, physical comedy and fire! He will have your whole family in stitches as he walks the line between funny and just downright silly. My kids loved his performance so much that they were invited on stage to participate themselves--lucky for us because we got some amazing pictures out of it too!
I am recommending Gypsy Geoff's performances not only because my children had such an awesome time with him but also due to how well I know this performer can make any audience laugh from start to finish without fail.
In many ways, the Renaissance Festival is a lot like any other performance: if you enjoyed it and want to show your appreciation financially, performers pass the hat at the end of each show. If budget isn't an issue for you but tipping feels awkward or unwanted (perhaps because not all performances request tips), there are some places where gratuity won’t be solicited. The Jousts in Kids Kingdom don’t ask for tips; as do shows featuring Queen Elizabeth that take place in Noble's Glade.
This year my kids were old enough to participate in the Kids Quest, and they loved it! It's an interactive adventure with fairy tale characters from Bristol. You'll search for treasure while meeting new friends along the way. My daughter is usually shy but she was so engaged by all of them that she couldn't stop talking about her experience when we came home! There are two different quests per day- one at 10:00 a.m., and another at 2 p..m.- you just register where everyone congregates before departing on your own quest."
The Bristol Renaissance Faire is a fun day out for the whole family, and it's only an hour outside of Chicago! There are many opportunities to explore your inner self with activities such as sword fighting classes. But don't stop there; pick up some pies in our bakery while you're at it or take part in one of their jousting tournaments! A very convenient parking lot will be found just north of the entrance on Frontage Road where handicapped and motorcycle parking can also be found. If you have any other questions about this event feel free to email us anytime-we would love to help make sure that all guests get exactly what they want from this uniquely unforgettable experience so come join us today!!!
