Author's Note: You know what? Maybe I should start adding images to this story, it's looking rather bland
_________________________________________
It's been officially 1 week since I've came to this world
In that time, I've learned several abilities that could help me to live decently by hunting. I've also found a cave as my hideout to store food in it. And finally, my 2 new companions who'd joined my pack also come to lived with me. All in all, life is good for me
In fact, it may be even better than before
I smiled in satisfaction as I watched today's fruit of hard labor: A black bear, 3 meters in height and over 1 in width is lying motionless on the ground. My two surbordimates standing beside it, bowing respectfully to me
"Good job you two, especially to you Alistair" I grinned at the one on the left
"Thanks, boss. But I couldn't have done that without Alistair either"
The mentioned beast howled in delight, much like a puppy would when you play with them
You must be wondering how I can understand the thing these Grimm are conveying to me. Believe me, I was pretty surprised when they started speaking to me too
But apparently, being in a Grimm's body does has it's own quirk
[Grimm Tongue]
It's a passive skill I realized I hadn't possess until now. This gives me the instinctual knowledge regarding the Grimm's language and allows me to converse with friendly/neutral individual of my race
"Certainly, let's go back now, shall we?"
As we head back to the cave, my mind started to wander about the recent events that transpired last night
These two Grimm had come to my cave looking for food yesterday. Being the generous host that I was, I treat them for a special meal consisting of frozen spider legs. After that they requested to join my pack and somehow I'e now became the alpha of the pack, or their 'Boss' as they would call it. It happened a little too fast so I didn't have time to refuse
Being the opportunist that I am, I've asked them some question about the Grimm that's been on my mind for some time. Their answers are surprisingly enlightening for me
Firstly, Grimm have their own language just like human and can communicate with each other without difficulty. It seems that this is a passive skill for me since I didn't remember learning that (It's an amusing thought though, that someone would open a class that teaches people how to talk to Grimm)
This imply that the first Grimm I've met could clearly hear me talking to him but choose not to listen and ended getting eaten by me. That did made me feel a little bit less guilty
Secondly, they can starve. It's not evident from a human's perspective since we have a better metabolism than them. An average Grimm could stay healthy even when they are starved for several weeks, and it would be months before they started feeling hungry. When questioned by me, the pair answered that they haven't eaten anything for more than a year'
Thirdly, and probably most importantly, Grimms can experience Evolution. The evolution are very rare among them, and only a few has managed to do that. When going through an evolution, one's power is tremendously increased in every aspect: Their senses, strength, speed. If that Grimm is lucky enough to amass enough power without being killed, he would probably experience a second evolution after hundreds of years.
If he gets even luckier, a third one. And if one is strong enough, even a forth one
Perhaps that's what 3/10 means when I checked my status. My level is currently 3 and I will evolve at level 10. My abilities must have played a role in accelerating my progress
The Grimm did mentioned a fifth Evolution, but it was mostly just non-confirmed rumor at this point, seeing the one who did attain it was a myth among Grimm
I've also asked them some more questions, but they're not particularly of importance since I already knew them from the show. What I need is just a confirmation of those facts
But yeah, that's all I've managed to glean from them. Though the information left much to be desired, I did learn more about them through the conversation we had
There's Alistair, the smaller one between them. Doesn't like to speak much, but was quite quick to follow what I said, it's stare seems to creep me out somehow
And then there's the other bigger one, Murdoch. Active but friendly, assuming he wasn't doing it on purpose to deceive me of course
Apparently I can gain the power and abilities of my subordinates as long as they joined my pack. This piece of information make me tempted to amass an army of Grimm to make myself stronger
That thought came away when I thought about the costs of maintaining such an army. Yeah, there are better alternatives...
Back to the track, there are [Greater Detection], [Howl] and [Blood Claw] which I've learned from Murdock and Alistair.
The first one is obvious enough, it's an enhanced version of [Detection] with greater range and effectiveness. If, say, my detection range before was from inside the cave to near it's entrance, then now I can sense everything within a distance of 10 meters radius from the cave, even if I'm asleep (Finally, I can now sleep like a normal human being)
The second is [Blood Claw], which is a nice addition to my [Sharper Claw] since it inflicts a bleeding DOT on the target. It only works on living things though
Perhaps the most interesting is [Howl]. From my various testing, it can be used to rally your surbordinates, either to defend you or to attack an enemy, at the same time giving them a boost in attack damage and movement speed. Further testing with the pair revealed that [Howl] have a duration of 5 seconds and a cool down of 25 seconds
It's pretty neat, isn't it?

You have learned [Tough Hide]
You have learned [Endurance]!
You have learned [Stronger Jaw]'
The notification popped up while we were enjoying the dinner: Roasted Bear
My surbordinates seems to enjoy it, judging from the way they keep gulping down big chunks of meat without swallowing it
After dinner is bedtime. I scratched my head as it suddenly came to me that I haven't prepared a bed for myself ever since I came here. It isn't a problem to me, but it is pretty embarrassing to admit that in front of my surbordinates
Luckily they didn't seem to have a problem with that. Alistair and Murdock snuggled on each side of me , probably for warmth. I laughed at this, because they just look too darn cute!
It would be pretty awkward if they are female. But judging from their name, that was quite unlikely. They must probably be boys, right?
Such stray thoughts kept roaming in my head until I fell asleep, unaware of the impact I have in this world

Crash
"M-my Mistress, please calm down!" Squeaked a terrified Watts
The reason for his anxiety is Salem, who's standing in front of his acquaintance, the crazy Tyrian
As of now he's busy rolling pathetically on the floor, clutching the stump that used to be his tails while screaming in agony, his face is a mixture of fear and blank terror
With a flick of her hands, the woman tossed the severed tails toward him. Watts caught it in his hands, fumbling in confusion and disgust with the bloody appendage
"You have one job, Tyrian" She said calmly "And you messed it up"
"It's only natural that you'd received a sufficient punishment"
Her eyes turned toward him "Watts"
The doctor stiffened up as he felt a chill down his spine
"Three months" she stated simply "You have three months ti find and retrieve my son. Should you fail to locate him..."
She gestured toward the pale Tyrian
"...Consider this an example of what'll happen to you"
As afraid as he was, his only choice is to accept it

"Headmaster, there has been a report concerning several Grimm attacking villages near Atlas's border, what shall we do about it"
"Oh, just send a team of Huntsman there. Wait, actually just one is enough. We don't need to waste manpower in such trivia things"
