It was already morning in my house. Disregarding the event of last night, you could say that right now I've finally adjusted to the life here with little difficulty
For the present I currently have no intention of going to school yet. With my ability to permanently project and create complex objects with ease, I could just take care of the mortgage on my own. As long as I don't draw attention from my spending I should be fine
The house, which I had rebuilt from scratch, was built in with additional defense to guard from any intruder with less than pleasant intention. But aside from that, I also did some cleanup on the interior.
Clearing away all the objects and unnecessary decorations, I've discovered this house is larger than I expected, which enable me to rearrange the rooms and create my own Workshop under the basement. Right now I had no uses for it yet
I had decided to spend the first day here to get to practice my powers, though. That's why I've cleared out the space in the backyard for training purpose
Sighing, I readied the projected blade in my hand
In front of me, the dummy stood motionlessly, it's unmoving form a far distance from me. I would have created a Golem for these sort of things, but realize that would be too wasteful if all I want is to test my skills against it
As for what I am trying to find out...it's about testing my ability to replicate different moves from the anime I've watched. I am trying to see if an animated drawing could be visualized, analyzed and bring into reality with my maxed out projection or not
As for what I am trying to find out...it's about testing my ability to replicate different moves from the anime I've watched. I am trying to see if an animated drawing could be visualized, analyzed and bring into reality with my maxed out projection or not
Most likely not, but I might as well try
I got ready into a stance. It was a basic one, with me crouching at knee level. Left hand extending backward to poise my blade, while right arm were drawn forward, tracing the blade's dull edge with the tip of my finger
From what I've seen in the source material, this will requires for some amount of precision to properly execute
"Aku...Soku...Zan"
At that moment, my mind blanked out
Scenes from the anime resurfaced from my memory. however, now with [Structural Analysis] they appeared in much clearer details. More vivid than what an 90's hand-drawn animation could ever hope to accomplish
How they moved, how they struck, as though the memory was etched into my soul itself
I dashed toward the dummy, closing the distance between us in the blink of an eye
"Gatotsu!"
My blade pierced forward, ripping through the air at a speed that break the sound barrier and impacted against the dummy's chest.
An inhuman amount of wind and kinetic energy converged into a single point, then exploded forward
BOOM
When the dust has slightly settled down, I saw that the dummy's upper body had been completely obliterated
….
"Ah, I still lack precision" Lowering the blade as it dematerialized, I could only shake my head.
While the enemy would be dead in this case, I was only aiming to cleave out his heart from his chest. This is proof that I'll need to better control my strength in the future
Well, I supposed this is not bad for the first try, plus it seems that I really can copy other moves from different franchise as long as I have the necessary visual information and physical attributes for it
Wait a minute.....
If only "information from any of the five senses" is needed for the process of recreation...then does that mean...
My hand, which has been holding nothing until now, was now grasping the shining blade belonging to a certain King of Britain from Fate/Zero
[Excalibur] (A++)
On my other hand was the iconic red spear of the Hound of Chuulain himself
[Gay Bulge] (B)
"....Alright, that's going to be a boon"
The two Noble Phantasm dispersed from my hand as I willed them away
"Considering their ranks are still the same as the original, I seems to have perfectly copied them" I tilted my head in thought "No...not "absolutely perfectly" per say, but it's a relative term. A duplicate can't outdo the original after all"
My [Structural Analysis] can give me up to 99.98% of the original's composition and history of their making, that does not make them absolutely precise. In practice, they will ultimately be inferior against the real thing
"But quality is not necessarily the most important stat" I frowned "There's still quantity"
This time, not one, but two Excalibur materialized in my hand. I looked at them with critical eyes, but spotted no deviation from each other. That means the strength of my Projection does not decrease the more I copy them
Deciding to a bit more bold, I continued generating another one, and another one, and another one, until I began to feel a mental strain in my head as I repeatedly Trace copies after copies of the same A-ranked Noble Phantasm
CLANG
My connection were suddenly cut off, the blade being materialized midair shattering into oblivion as I lost control over it
"So my limit is 999 Excalibur's huh?" I pursed my lips, looking around at the pile of golden blades surrounding me. Unlike normal projection, I had discovered mine can last as hundreds of hours if left alone, so I don't exactly have to worry about them disappearing mid fight
"Not bad, but they could be better. Now, using multiplication math, we have 0.998 of the original power multiplied by 999 of them, so that would roughly be the same as 997 times the normal power of your average Excalibur
But what if I then use [Reinforcement] on them and turn those swords into Broken Phantasm? That would be 20 times the damage in exchange for a one time use of my projection
Assuming I fire all of them at the same time, my strongest attack would roughly be 19,940 times the normal power of a single Excalibur blast from Artoria at her normal condition
So....how powerful would that be again? Would activating all of them count as an Anti-Army or an Anti-Fortress one?
I honestly am to lazy to tell. Oh well, maybe I'll try to improve my abilities in the future and find a way to further increase my firepower if needed
Something like "Unlimited Excalibur Works" maybe. Locking your enemy in a Reality Marble, while an infinite amount of reinforced holy sword beams rained down on them until they surrender
While I doubt such a thing would injure a normal Servant, this will probably be enough to stun them temporarily and allow some time for me to escape from them
It's not like such an attack would kill them right? I mean, Fate Servants are all monsters with god-like abilities after all
With a snap of my fingers, the aforementioned swords burst into mana particles that vanished upon making contact with the air. I got up from my sitting position and walked up to the door, pocketing some money in my pants
I'll think about it later, right now I have other business outside to attend. Namely, gathering more reference material so I can copy from them
<><><><><><><><><><><>
"Which fighting manga do you have?"
"Excuse me, sir?"
"Anime. Manga. Illustration. Any weeb material that involves martial arts and sword fighting, regardless of old or new. How many do you have?"
"W-well, we have Baki the Grappler and Hajime no Ippo-"
"Great, I'll take your entire stock" I placed the thick stack of magazines on the counter "By the way, how much for these research materials?"
The girl took a glance at the covers, before a blush covered her face
"Sir, that's not-"
"How much for these research materials?"
"...That would be 4,000 Yen, sir..."
Nodding as I paid the aforementioned amount of money and receive my ordered products, I exited the bookstore under the meaningful gaze of the female cashier. As I walked along the high noon street filled with walking pedestrians, I began wondering
Right, now that I've taken care of it, what more should I do?
What more can I do?
Obviously, this is my first time in this town, and as such I've had no idea where to go. The street of Japan in the early 90's is hardly what you would expect from the modern metropolis we know it as today, with hardly a skyscraper in sight and children running around without supervision from their parents
As an annoying side effect of being in an early period of time, the manga and anime industry haven't even reached it's peak, thus I only have the old school fighting manga to help me visualize different combat moves
The only form of entertainment one would have in these kind time are playing traditional game and hanging out with your friends near the outskirt of the town until the day's over. No video games, no texting, not even TVs are popular these days
"Man, those boomers had got it hard"
As for me, I have no complain. I've always preferred peace of self than the mindless fun one usually seeks in today's society. To that line, Misaki town is a breath of fresh air from the bustling city atmosphere I've grown accustomed to all my life
So in the end, I decided to go to the local park and started reading my books there
Not my other books of course, but rather the one I've deemed to be worthy of being spent some time reading on. Manga, regardless of the era they're in, will always be my favorite entertainment media
Let's see. How about I start with Baki?
I gingerly open the first page
Skill [Martial Arts] had been learned!
Then the second
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
A vein popped on my forehead. Can't they just let me read a single page without announcing an upgrade or something?
Slowly, I opened the third page, hoping that-
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
[Martial Arts] had leveled up
......
[Martial Arts] had been maxed out
- At this level you have achieved the peak of human prowess, both in strength and techniques. Your skills in unarmed combat are unmatched among fellow mortals, almost rivaling the likes of demigods themselves
When equipped with no weapons, your Strength, Agility and Endurance are increased by one rank
"Eh?"
Wait a minute, I haven't even finished reading the first volume, how the fuck did my skill leveled up so quickly!
My hand touched a nearby tree, only for it to shatter much to my horror. I tried to touch it again, but this time accidentally crushing it to splinters once more
Due to the sudden increase in strength, I was unable to fully control it and apparently had exerted too much force on them
My eyes widened in panic as the sound of the tree collapsing attracted curious stares from the people nearby. Many of them look shocked, which is not a good sign
Damn.
Thinking quickly, I summoned a fallen twig on the ground and use [Reinforcement] + [Alteration] on it, causing the branch to become a smooth, relatively straight stick with a twisted handle
Beautiful carvings began appearing on it as the thin twig was imbued with an unimaginable amount of magic. Power concentrated at it's core, transforming what was once an ordinary piece of wood into something significantly greater
Rank E Noble Phantasm: [Elder Wand] has been created
- [High Magic Mastery]: All spells below B-rank does not cost mana to cast
With a flick of said object, the tree was restored back to it's former state using conjuration magic
With a second flick, the books levitated off the ground as the space around them twisted, storing them away in my own Reality
With a final flick, all the gaping onlookers who saw my little show of magic had their memories erased.
Their eyes blanked out momentarily, before they shrugged it off and continued on with their activities as though nothing happened, leaving me behind feeling annoyed
"Great, just great" Putting the temporary item in my breast pocket, I began walking toward the direction of my home "I'll need to practice control over my own power again...fuck my life"
So much for a peaceful day as an unremarkable individual
<><><><><><><><><><>
Where and who, that is the question when it comes to fate
The presence of an unpredictable anomaly residing in a fixed timeline, altering it's course the longer it goes. If and if not are meaningless, as the destined results are now nothing more than an illusion of choice
The Executor seeking retribution
The Heretic who defies Death
The Mad Hound thirsting for Chaos
And finally, the White Princess waking up on another hunt
This time, which "Route" will it be?
