I am a graduate student specializing in robotics and mechatronics (RobMech). Previously, I served as the leader of the ABB & RMIT Mixed Reality Project Team (HoloControl), where we focused on developing and promoting technologies, systems, and applications that foster innovation in networked robotics, human-robot interaction, immersive technologies (VR, AR, MR), and other emerging fields. I am currently pursuing a PhD and am a teaching fellow at the School of IT, Deakin University, focusing on AI-driven multi-robot systems (MRS) and advanced industrial automation.
Graduate Researcher Teaching Fellow, Feb 2026 - present
PhD in IT-OT | SEBE | SIT, from Oct 2024 - est. graduated 2028
Melbourne, VIC, Australia
It is my pleasure and honor to be a part of the Deakin Research Community as a DUPR scholarship holder at Deakin University, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE), School of Information Technology (IT). It is a preamble foundation for stepping higher in my future contributions.
Moreover, I look forward to leveraging my over three-year HDR journey to shape my future career and contribution to the community and society under the supervision of the big team: Dr Jonathan KUA (Principal Supervisor), A/Prof Thuong HOANG (Associate Supervisor), and Prof Jiong JIN (External Supervisor), as well as the diverse collaborators and mentors network growing alongside my journey.
Hope that we can bring a significant contribution to the Next-Generation Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (NG-ICPS), AI-driven networked robotics, telerobotics, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Digital Twins (DTs), Distributed Computing, etc., under the Cloud-Fog Automation (CFA) umbrella.
Former General Lead (ABBVN Mega Pilot Project), Dec 2023 - Feb 2024

Landing an internship and project lead at ABB was a dream come true. I more or less worked all of college to get to that point. While I still suffer from overthinking to this day, I quickly convinced others I deserved to be there and was given a lot of responsibility at this age.
The team I had the privilege of researching and developing the new robot control approach applied immersive technology to improve the user experience for ABB. We helped carry out the top-to-bottom design and implementation of holographic UI. Then test and enhance the product outcome to achieve the planned target. Especially, on 08/2022, a typical event in the Vietnam Industry, Hanoi VME 2022. The team has an opportunity to show the latest version of the developing application under the ABB Innovation booth in the special showcase zone. I would not trade my experience at ABB for anything. It is where I form my career path and understand where I go and what I wish to be in the future.
Thanks, Mr Hong DANG, for being my manager for over 2 years, as well as Mr Ninh NGUYEN and Mr Thai DINH, for supporting our HoloControl Team on the research and final year capstone project at RMIT - Mixed Reality (MR) Robot Control. And I appreciate the trust, encouragement, and support from Mr Phu HUYNH (CEO, KUKA Vietnam, former ABB Robotics Business Director) and Mr Tin TRAN (Business Development Key Account Manager, KUKA Vietnam, former ABB Robotics Operation Manager).
B.Eng in RoboMechEng (Hons), from Sep 2017 - graduated in Apr 2024

RMIT presented unprecedented scale and diversity of opportunity. Over 6 years as an R&M engineering student across the disciplines pushed me to expand, challenge, and adjust my worldview. RMIT showed me what I love, gifted me a chance for learning, and surrounded me with a wealth of inspiring peers.
My experience with engineering showed me the power of science and expanded my comfort zone. My tenure throwing major, campus-wide events, validated that quality stems from attention to detail. My engagement in group projects across the courses exercised my creative muscle, sparked my obsession with empathetic leadership, and strengthened my tolerance to adversity. My internships at ABB helped me discover my love for science and technology that make people's lives better.
Thanks, Dr Minh TRAN, for being my core supervisor (since 2018) during my time at SSET, as well as Mr Duc TRINH, Mr Man DIEN, for being my great teammates (HoloControl Team). And the internal support for growing together of Mr Quang NGUYEN, Mr Toan LUU, and the entire SSET staff for assisting us.
