If you would like help reduce the overpopulation crisis of dogs in OKC and prevent more suffering animals, you can sponsor spay and neuter for dogs of unhoused and severely low income people.

Two dogs in the 3 months we have been doing this outreach have had their lives saved by spaying. Don't delay her spay!
Kika was supposed to be spayed, but didn't make her appointment. When she later became pregnant, the pups never came out, though she was huge. Kika became very sick and couldn't move. This was because her uterus wasn't viable, and if her body had attempted to expel the pups, it would've ruptured, leading to her death.
Lavender's owner was uncomfortable with getting her spayed. Later, after he tragically lost his other dog, he decided to play it safe and get her spayed. It was discovered during her spay, that she had Hydrometra- a precursor to Pyometra, a deadly uterine infection that can only be avoided completely by removing the uterus- spaying.
