WCWC

The Worcester Community Writing Center. Based in Worcester, MA. Located online.

What we do

The Worcester Community Writing Center is a (virtual) space where anyone in the larger Worcester county community can come together with trained writing consultants from area colleges, including the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester State University, and Worcester Polytechnic institute to:

  • talk about writing

  • plan writing

  • improve writing

  • develop writing confidence

Writing consultants will work with you at any stage in the writing process, whether you have a full draft written or just have an idea for a project (but haven't started writing yet).

Who can use the WCWC?

Community members 18 and older in Worcester county working on writing are welcome to reach out to the WCWC.

What kind of writing does the WCWC support?

The WCWC supports writers working on any type of communication, whether it’s a poem, a presentation, a cover letter, a flyer, an email, English language exercises, or something else. If you're not sure if the WCWC can support your writing, reach out to worcester.writes@gmail.com, and we'll let you know if we have someone equipped to work with your type of project.

What does a typical appointment look like?

Appointments range from 10 - 60 minutes, and you can let us know how long you would like to speak with a trained writing consultant. Sessions take place via Zoom. During the session, the consultant will ask you about your writing goals, and you will work collaboratively to take steps toward achieving them together.

How to book appointments

We welcome folks interested in working with a writing consultant to email worcester.writes@gmail.com to set up an appointment. Someone from the WCWC will respond to your message and will find a time when you and a consultant can meet via Zoom.
