How It Started
The Wooden Anvil began with a simple interest in leathercraft while I was growing up on Maui. I first learned the craft through the Boy Scouts, earning my Leatherwork merit badge and discovering how much I enjoyed creating something from a simple piece of leather.
From Hobby to Craft
What started as a hobby gradually became a passion. I began experimenting with hand carving my own designs, from floral patterns to landscapes, and continued developing my style with each new project. Along the way, my family's history in ranching helped deepen my appreciation for leatherwork, craftsmanship, and creating things that are both useful and personal.
The Wooden Anvil Today
Today, The Wooden Anvil is where I create hand-carved leather goods, custom pieces, and original artwork here on Oʻahu. It's also become a way for me to share the craft with others through hands-on workshops and events, giving people the opportunity to experience leathercraft and create something of their own.
