Teaching Philosophy

I am a very firm believer that through education, students will be able to thrive and overcome obstacles as well as learn to be successful in their adult lives. In a classroom setting whether it be a math class or a music class or a gym class, students will be faced with hard tasks and difficult decisions throughout their educational lives. These hard tasks and difficult decisions will help them further down the road and overcome the obstacles that are thrown at them throughout their adult lives. As a teacher we have many important duties and roles in a child’s life but, it is our main two duties to help with preparation for their adult lives to help them be successful and let them understand that her classroom is always a safe environment for all and that we are always available to talk.

I decided to become a teacher when I was probably six years old. I’m helping teach my senior sister how to do certain things by helping my friend study for tests and quizzes. I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I have this desire to make a positive impact on the lives of every single child that I teach. I want to show children that not all teachers are just going to assign homework after homework and test after test. I want to show children that teachers are there for them no matter what. I want to show that a classroom is a safe space and an open space. If they ever have an issue they know that they can always come talk to someone. To me, being a teacher is a very noble profession and it is also a very rewarding profession. Being a teacher you are able to completely change a child’s view on life and on school.

I want to not only teach children the basics such as math and science, history and English, I want to teach them about life. I want to teach children respect and what it means to be respected. I want to teach children to reach for the stars and know that the sky is their limit. I want to teach children how to be determined and how to become successful in life. I want them to know that if they want to be the President of the United States, if they put their mind and heart to it, they will be the President of the United States. If they want to be an astronaut, they can be an astronaut. If they want to be a first responder and serve our nation outside of the United States or inside of the United States I want them to know that they can do that. I want to teach children that there’s bad out there but if they want to make a difference, they can make a difference in the tiniest ways. I want to teach children that no matter how many times someone brings them down and makes them sad and feel defeated, that they just need to stand back up and realize that they are here for a reason and if they can accomplish anything.

I want to inspire students. I wanna inspire students to be the best version of themselves. I wanna inspire students to respect one another and to respect they’re higher ups. I wanna inspire students to do whatever they want to do with their lives. I want students to know that it’s not what their parents want them to be, it's what they want to be. From my Experience, my parents were set on me going to vet school and becoming a veterinarian. I thought that’s what I wanted to do and then after looking back on what I said my first career choice was when I was just six years old, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and that nothing was going to change my mind. I want to inspire students to be driven. I wanna inspire students to be the change. I want to inspire students to just be themselves.

In conclusion, I have a desire to make an impact on the child’s life. I have the desire to teach children about life and how to be themselves. I want to inspire students to be them and to want to be successful. I want to show children that they are able to do whatever they put their mind to. I want to be a teacher because I enjoy watching children develop into the person that they are supposed to be. I’m a firm believer that we were put on this earth for a reason and my reason for being put on earth is to teach children and teach them not just math, science, history, English and whatever else but I was put here to teach children how to be them and how to help change their lives.
