2. Data Collected
Apple Sign-in Identifier: A unique, anonymous identifier provided by Apple. Your real name or email is only received if you choose to share it.
User-generated content: Personal wine entries, comparisons, match history, and ELO ratings stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit database.
Diagnostics (optional): If you enable Share iPhone Analytics, Apple may send anonymised crash logs.
These contain no personal identifiers accessible to the developer.
The App does not collect location data, contact lists, advertising identifiers, or sensitive personal information.
3. How Data Is Used
Your data is used solely to:
operate the App,
sync your wine history across your devices,
retrieve a shared non-personal "All Wines" list from CloudKit’s public database,
maintain and improve App functionality.
We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CPRA.
We do not use your data for advertising or analytics.
4. Legal Basis (GDPR)
Processing occurs under:
Contract performance: operating the App and syncing your account.
Legitimate interests: maintaining a shared wine database.
Consent: optional diagnostics (Apple-managed).
5. Data Storage & Transfers
Personal data is stored in your private CloudKit database, tied to your Apple ID.
Shared data (non-personal) is stored in CloudKit’s public database.
CloudKit may store data in multiple global regions. Apple’s infrastructure complies with GDPR-level protections.
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as you use the App.
If you delete the App or revoke iCloud access, associated CloudKit data is removed according to Apple’s retention schedule.
7. Your Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA, you have the right to:
access your personal data,
correct inaccurate data,
request deletion,
request a copy of your data (portability),
restrict or object to processing,
withdraw consent at any time (where applicable),
not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

Because personal data resides in your CloudKit account, some rights (e.g., deletion) may also be exercised through Apple’s iCloud settings.
8. Children’s Privacy
