This ride will use the MACK Rides suspended family ride, which combines aspects of a tame roller coaster and an immersive dark ride.
The vehicles are themed to resemble Chiron's boats that he use to provide passage to the Underworld.
The queue takes guests through the columned entrance of Mount Olympus and inside a museum-like area, where the gods are showcasing their feats to the humans who enter their kingdom.
The events of the movie happened 14 years ago according to markings shown in the queue.
This pre-show uses live actors for the characters of Hercules, Zeus, and Hades, but it uses audio-animatronics for everyone else!
The pre show begins with Hercules himself ushering and welcoming us as the first group of mortals to tour Olympus. As the gods (particularly Zeus, Ares, and Athena) give us some opening remarks about the history of Olympus and the events of the film Hercules, we are interrupted by the sudden appearance of Hades.
Hades has gone good since the events of the first movie, though the other Olympians are suspicious of him. He has been quietly ruling over the Underworld for the past 14 years, but not trouble is aloft. The titan Kronos, who dwells in Tartarus and controls time itself has broken free and is laying waste upon Hades' kingdom. He wants the Olympians to help.
Despite believing it could be a trap, Hercules agrees to lead the charge and asks us to follow him, saying that true heroes have to accept their calls to action.
A new door opened, which Hades reveals to be a portal to the Underworld. When we enter it, we find ourselves loading the ride vehicles.
We board our vehicles and get some thrilling flight practice as we fly around the depths of Hell itself doing inversions and other cool tricks. Heracles ushers us to land in Elysium to meet with himself and Hades.
We land in Elysium, the Greek equivalent where Hades debriefs us and Heracles. Kronos still remains in Tartarus with his minions. We will distract his minions with our insane flying tricks, while Heracles defeats him.
We next fly through the fiery depths of Tartarus with Hercules on Pegasus by our side. He points out all of the titans surrounding us as we maneuver through small holes. We see Kronos in front of us and pause. Then a sudden launch.
We are in a tube, which Heracles explains is the timeline of our world. As we launch through it we can see epic events through all of history - Greek architecture, World Wars, landing on the moon, Disney World being built. Heracles guides us to navigate out of the timestream, back to the conflict in Tartarus.
A giant Kronos animatronic sits in the center of the room as we maneuver around him, drawing fire from the other titans. Finally we slow down as we orbit Kronos' head, where a Heracles animatronic defeats him. He says he can take it from here and ushers us back to Olympus to inform Zeus.
We land in a courtyard, where Zeus thanks us and names us heroes of Olympus. We then are ushered off the ride.
