Congratulations on your engagement!
Hiring a live wedding painter is such a fun, unique, and timeless way to bring both entertainment to your event as well as a piece of art to hang in your home for your family to cherish forever. I take this responsibility very seriously, and promise to pour every bit of expertise, love and energy I have into creating your painting.
How my process works
Check for availability on the date of your wedding by submitting your application. I will typically reply within 24-48 hours. Date will be secured following 50% deposit and signed contract. Apply here- Pricing/Application
Consultation: 4-6 weeks before the wedding, we will have a phone consultation to discuss your timeline and a vision for the painting- back ground scene, poses, and etc.
Depending on your timeline for the day, I arrive at your venue 1-2 hours before the first look or before when ceremony begins (if no first look is scheduled)
Based off what we discuss in our phone consultation, I will take you for an exclusive photoshoot-this is the photo I will use for reference. (A perfect photo = a perfect painting, so this part is very important to get right!) This can be done before or immediately following the ceremony.
After the photo reference is captured, I head back to my easel to start the sketch and continue working throughout the evening. Your guests are more than welcome to watch me paint and I will do my best to entertain as I work!
At the end of the night, I will get as far as I can within 6-8 hours of painting. (how far I get varies from painting to painting, I believe in quality over quantity) If your photographer and/or videographer are present I will let them know so that the moment can be captured.
The painting will come back to my studio for completion and additional fine detail work + varnish. This process can take anywhere from 3-6 months.
Your painting will be professionally packaged and sent, or arranged for local pick-up / drop off.
To officially secure your date, 50% deposit and signed contract are required. Dates book out quickly, where I am available one day and unavailable the next.
No. I specialize in high quality oil paintings of the bride and groom.
While some artists do it this way, I do not! Every artist has a different process, and this is probably the most common misconception about what I do.
Here's the deal, I believe capturing the perfect reference photo is what sets me up for the best painting.... so I do not leave this up to chance. I require a quick photoshoot either after the first look, or after the ceremony to make sure I have a high quality photo to sketch from. There are endless options to choose from when it comes to the moment & poses! So while yes, we can definitely mimic a first look / dance, we aren't limited to these options.

No. (Please review "wedding day" details above)
^ I do not believe in rushing my work. In order to provide my clients with the best painting, I take pride in making sure it is up to my standards. I want you to love your painting forever, and therefore it requires time to get right. Oil paintings can also take weeks to dry, so the process of completing an oil painting is not the same as acrylic.
My paintings are intended to elegantly showcase the intimacy, love, and connection between you and your partner. If you desire other options in your painting, I might not be the right artist for you on your day.
Yes! I am eager to paint in more destinations and would love to make the trip to be a part of your day. From Colorado to Puerto Rico, there's no place I want to miss! Travel fees will be discussed during your application process if you are outside of 50 miles.
Yes! Our phone consultation is meant to be a time to develop ideas and visions we both have to best capture your wedding day. Some elements may be of more importance than others, so discussing those things ahead of time will make sure your painting is custom to you.
