About the Program

The Virtual Music Studio Online Music Lesson Program provides students of all ages a fun way to keep learning in the safety of your own home through weekly one-on-one instruction taught through a secure Zoom meeting.

Online lessons are a great way to: keep students of all ages engaged in music-making, develop skills on their instrument, keep their brain engaged in musical activity, and provide a relaxing and enjoyable creative outlet. Science has shown us that music lessons can keep us mentally alert and boost our spirits, which is very important during this time of altered routines and schedules.

About the Instructor

Ron Parsons retired after 33 years as the director of the Danvers High School Band Program. Under his direction, the Danvers Band is the only Massachusetts high school band to perform in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade three times, along with performances at Pearl Harbor, a presidential inauguration, and multiple performances at Walt Disney World Orlando, Universal Studios Orlando and Disneyland California.

As a music educator for over 45 years, Ron shares his enthusiasm and love for music with students of all levels having directed elementary, middle school and high school band programs. Currently he is the elementary band director at Covenant Christian Academy.

Ron is recognized as one of “50 Directors who Make a Difference” by School Band and Orchestra (SBO) Magazine, and one of “100 Influential Leaders in Essex County” by the Salem News.
