As you may observe, our data indicates that White Ibises are very sedentary and can be reliably seen at the same places. What is interesting to us is to see how they interact with people in these areas, but also what other White Ibises they interact with. Do they form preferential associations with specific individuals ? Are they more likely to share information, diseases and genes with these individuals ?
We think that their high sedentarism may contribute to make ibises form dense and stable social groups, with whom they will share information and diseases, but also, within which they may form breeding pairs!
