We can always count on our friends to help us out. Why not build a community around this idea?
What Is A Time Bank?
Whether it is helping you move into a new place or hitch a ride somewhere, our friends are always there to support us. Time banks extend this concept beyond just your friends to the people who make up the community around you. It is a form of non-monetary exchange that allow people to trade their time for different services in time credits. An individual who provides a service for one hour receives one time credit. They can then use that time credit for a service they may need.
How Does It Work?
It differs from a barter system because it is a pay-it-forward system instead of a transaction between two individuals. By exchanging services in time, all forms of labor are viewed equally, since all labor is necessary for a society to function.

All time is valued the same; An hour of one service is the same as any other service
