SKY KING is a new play written by actor and playwright Jameson L. Black based on a stunningly true story that took over the news in 2018. SKY KING follows the story of Richard “Beebo” Russell on the day he decided that the “sky’s no limit” and stole a Horizon Q400 Airplane from the Seattle-Tacoma Airport. The story, told through the perspective of an Air Traffic Controller, touches themes of self-purpose, freedom, and men’s mental health with a script that is both deeply emotional and humorous. The script is comprised of the words spoken by Beebo and the reactions of pilots, passengers, and locals in the area. This script was written in honor of Beebo, whose willingness to take control of his life by any means necessary has inspired many who also feel as if they have no control in life.

Jameson has a deeply unique voice as a playwright that shines through in this piece, and in the opinion of The Troupe Theatre his is a name you will want to know!
