• Bloodborne pathogens are transmitted from one person to anther through the transfer of body fluids

  • Blood

  • Cerebral Spinal Fluid

  • Semen and Vaginal Secretions during sexual contact

• Although sweat, saliva, urine and feces do not have a documented risk of transmitting pathogens, it is not always possible to know if they are mixed with blood.

• Treat ALL body fluids as infectious

• Casual Contact such as shaking hands, hugging, or sharing a telephone does not transmit BBP
