• A requirement of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030(c)

• Purpose is to outline the strategies necessary to eliminate or minimize employee exposure

• Additional components of the ECP:

  • Engineering Controls

  • Work Practice Controls

  • PPE

  • Housekeeping

  • Containment and Labeling

• Also outlines the training, communication of hazards, methods for post-exposure evaluation and follow-up, proper record keeping and a sharps injury log

• The Exposure Control Plan must be accessible to all employees
