Ms. H. or "Missy H."
With an unwavering passion for both performance and education, Ms. H. has made meaningful contributions to Hong Kong’s musical landscape through her artistry and dedication. As an active pianist, she performed in concerts and events hosted by respected local music groups such as Les Pianistes, Music-Go Round, and PerformNow, showcasing a repertoire that bridges classical tradition and contemporary expression.
Her musicianship was shaped by training under distinguished mentors, including Wendy Lin, in-house pianist for the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, and accomplished local pianist Frederic Koon. Further expanding her artistic horizons, Ms. H. participated in the 12th International Music Festival in Warsaw, Poland, where she deepened her engagement with diverse musical styles.
In addition to her work as a pianist and piano teacher, Ms. H. has devoted herself to choral education, particularly with children’s choirs. She has guided young singers to discover both the joy and discipline of music through her work with the Hong Kong Association of Christian Music Ministry, Tuen Mun Children Choir, Yip's Children Choir, and The Boy’s & Girl’s Club Association of Hong Kong. Her commitment to nurturing young voices is complemented by her own artistic growth—having studied voice under the well-regarded local tenor Bastien Tai, she enriched her understanding of vocal technique and brought greater depth to her choral teaching practice.
Ms. H.'s deep-rooted passion for both performance and education eventually led her to transition into the role of a choir conductor for children.
Her surname is Ho. She firmly believes in the continuous improvement of oneself, regardless of one's position. Through both her performance and teaching, Ms. Ho continues to inspire and connect with anyone willing to immerse themselves in the culture of music-making.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, with a minor in Early Childhood Education, and a Master's degree in Chinese Language and Literature. In addition, she has earned diplomas in piano pedagogy, music history, and music theory.
"Chung Gor-Gor": The Espresso-Powered ‘Vroom-Vroom’ 🛴 of Musical Mayhem 🤯
🌞Legend has it that upon spotting the “elusive and mysterious” Chung Gor-Gor in the wild 🏞️—mid-snack 😋 or mid-sprint🐎—the Choirmaster lured him back to civilization with a dessert bribe 🍰 and a rehearsal schedule. He’s been conducting, composing for children, and caffeinating ☕ ever since.
He serves as Associate Conductor and Artist-Teacher in Residence for the Tung Chung Children’s Choir, where he leads rehearsals, composes original repertoire, and fosters a joyful, inclusive environment for young singers. His work bridges instrumental and vocal disciplines, blending technical rigor with playful exploration to spark lasting musical engagement.
Whether he’s vroom-vrooming 🛴across the music room mid-rehearsal or sneaking snack references into his compositions (because seriously, why isn’t hotdog 🌭a sandwich🥪?), Chung Gor-Gor likes bringing a whirlwind of energy and humor to rehearsal sessions. ☕🍮
Chung Gor-Gor
While his surname occasionally surfaces—usually on coffee loyalty cards 💳or when a choir kid accidentally reads the top of some sheet music🎶and exclaims, “WAIT…who’s THAT?”—Chung Gor-Gor’s musical journey—both credentials and lived experiences—is anything but elusive. ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️
His surname is Chan. He hopes to cultivate a locally rooted culture of artistic music performance through inclusive teaching and community engagement—making music a lived experience within the community, rather than a stage-bound event, an imported showcase, or a competition-oriented activity.
