Tron is a sci-fi franchise that began in 1982 with the release of the first movie, simply named Tron, by Disney. As one of the first movies to use 3D computer generated imagery, it made history and became a cult classic. It was even snuffed out of an Academy Award nomination for its use of CGI, as computer imagery was considered cheating at the time. Since then, Tron has grown into a franchise spanning two movies with a third on the way, a television series, multiple video games, comics, novelizations, and more. My name is Davey, I've been in love with the Tron franchise since 2023. I'm aware I'm a bit of a late adopter, but I wasn't born when the first came out and was only four, barely conscious, at the release of Legacy. My interest in Tron began with my interest in retro CGI animation, and upon watching Tron (1982) for the first time, I was hooked on it and all its campiness. I've spent many hours watching, rewatching, and writing about this franchise. I've done many a project and essay about Tron as well. I really do love this series.
