The Stagecoach Band Experience

The Stagecoach Band has been performing in the Tucson Arizona area since 2023 and was Founded by Rob Wright, a former member of the New Christy Minstrels.

Rob Wright began his music career in 1975 with his first band, American Ingenuity while he was still in high school. During college he worked at the Gaslight Theatre in Tucson, Arizona as one of the original cast members. He was at the Disney Hotel in 1979 and Joined The New Christy Minstrels later that year. After the Christies, Rob toured the Western Unites States as a duo with his wife Linda playing mostly casinos in Nevada during summer and winter at the El Moracco Resort near Palm Springs. After four years on the road, Rob stuck to casuals throughout Southern California for the next twelve years while managing LeRoy’s Ski Shop in Big Bear Lake. During that time, he finished college at Cal State San Bernadino and earned degrees in English and Liberal Studies along with a teaching certificate. It didn’t take long to determine that teaching was not for him. Rob, Linda and Lacey, their daughter moved to Tucson Arizona in 1994 where Rob became a Registered Investment Advisor. He performed regularly at Gus and Andy’s Steak House with the Rob Wright Dixieland Show Band for several years. Then in 2004 he was asked to join The Original Wildcat Jazz Band.  They perform throughout Arizona and at various Classic Jazz Festivals in the USA, Canada and Mexico, and still perform regularly, mostly in Tucson, Phoenix and Green Valley.  Rob has performed in all 50 states, recorded 17 albums, been the guest artist with the Tucson Pops Orchestra six times, The White Mountain Orchestra, Ballet Tucson, as well as headlined various banjo festivals around the states. In 2025 he will celebrate 50 years of performing.  Presently, does shows and concerts with The Stagecoach Band, The Wildcat Jazz Band, Just Plain Folk, The Great Banjo Summit, and as a single in the white Mountains of Arizona.  Rob plays the four and five-string banjo, guitar, ukulele and harmonica.

Chelsee Hicks was born in Tucson, Az but grew up in the 1.1-square-mile town of Neodesha, Kansas.  She returned to the desert and graduated from the University of Arizona summa cum laude.  An old soul indeed, Chelsee got her start singing vintage music with the touring trio, The Manhattan Dolls, which continues to this day.  She sings regularly with groups such as popular cover band 80s and Gentlemen and jazz trio Blue Dream. Chelsee feels such gratitude for the performance opportunities Tucson has gifted to her.  Toto, she's got a feeling she's not in Kansas anymore!

Alvin Blane is from Wilcox Arizona and is a long time staple in Southern AZ including 14 years with Rex Allen Jr.

Our Fiddle Player, Lex Browning, grew up in a small Kentucky town watching the steamboats ply up and down the Ohio River. As a kid, he and and his brother would perform on local radio stations. He was a professional studio musician, songwriter, and artist in Nashville, Tennessee.  Equally adept on fiddle, guitar, banjo, and mandolin, he has played fiddle, guitar, and written songs for such artists as Queen Ida, The Austin Lounge Lizards, Pam Tillis

Trace Adkins, Great Plains.  Most recently, Lex joined the seminal Country Rock band, Poco as a member.  He’s performed in every state of the US, from Alaska to Hawaii, South America, Europe, and Japan
