It can be hard to accept anything over which we have no control, such as evolution. It may
even be impossible. It can help, we find, to remember that we always have control over
our attitude..if we choose to exercise that control. We don't have to be vicims. We don't
need to feel helpless. We don't need to just give up and be sucked into either denial or
despair. We have a choice.
We have a choice of how we respond. Traction is available for us, no matter how powerful we experince the mudslide in which we feel caught. We don't have to allow ourselves to be tugged off balance, even uprooted. We can choose to dig in our roots (link to Adaptation and the Roots part of the Spark meditation) and stand tall.
This makes it easier to accept. We may even delight in the challenge. To move from despair or negativity to delight and joy takes more than wishful thinking. There are habits of thought that may need to be changed, habits of response. Yet it can be done.
Once we make the choice to claim the control we have, we can experience a subtle tug
toward where we can be most useful. We of the Spark of Humanity network believe that
there is a solution to the current global distress, and that we are each a unique and essential
part of it. When we shift our energy away from the negativity, to effective willingness to
explore our role in the solution, the acceptance flows like a playful torrent.
