After 20 fulfilling years in public and private K-8 classrooms, I was ready to do something different. I knew I still wanted to work with kids and parents, so in the summer of 2023, I opened my tutoring business, The Space to Learn, LLC.
I work with students one-on-one to give them the gift of space and time that is so often hard to find in full classes of students with diverse needs.
K-8 Reading - Instruction & practice in decoding (early reading), encoding (spelling), fluency, and comprehension. The order and pace I use will complement, but may not line up exactly with their school curriculum. 30 minutes.
K-5 Math - Instruction & practice in early numeracy, number sense, number relationships, math fact fluency, and problem-solving. The order and pace I use will complement, but may not line up exactly with their school curriculum. 30 minutes.
3-5 Homework Help - Practice and support in all subjects. Parents will need to provide classroom information before the session. (math topics, spelling lists, forward classroom newsletters, or screenshots). If nothing is given, we will read and/or practice math facts. 30-60 minutes.
6-8 Homework Help - Practice and support in all subjects. The student and I will go through their online agenda together and check for missing assignments. We will work on homework and prepare for upcoming assignments and/or quizzes. We can also work on organization and study skills. 30-60 minutes.

Tutoring sessions take place in my home in central Edmond where I have a dedicated library for my tutoring business.
