Sound Design / Foley / Voice Over
In this project, I reimagined the sonic landscape of "Tunnel", a psychological horror short film. My focus was on building a sense of dread and unease through a meticulous layer-by-layer audio reconstruction, involving Sound Design, Custom Foley, and Voice Over.
Custom Foley Artistry: To bring a tactile sense of reality to the character, I recorded all clothing rustles and equipment movements from scratch. This included the specific textures of a backpack shifting and the mechanical handling of flashlights/lenses—essential elements that anchor the audience in the protagonist's immediate physical space.
Atmospheric Sound Design: The "Tunnel" itself was treated as a malevolent entity. I designed a heavy, oppressive atmosphere using dark drone layers, industrial hums, and spatial echoes. While the footsteps were carefully curated from high-end sound libraries, they were heavily processed to match the unique acoustics of a terrifying underground void.
Voice Over (VO) & Horror Processing: I handled the recording and processing of the voice-over, focusing on the breath and vocal tremors that signal fear. The VO was spatialized to fluctuate between the character’s internal thoughts and the echoing reality of the tunnel.
The Vision: In the horror genre, what you hear is often scarier than what you see. For "Tunnel," I aimed to create an auditory experience where every gear click and fabric movement feels like a heartbeat in the dark, heightening the viewer's fight-or-flight response.

Live Sound Engineering / Audio Setup
"LONE" is an interdisciplinary multimedia performance that explores the intersection of human nature and digital systems. It features a sophisticated dialogue between live electronic music (Anna Papaioannou), real-time interactive visuals (Alexandra Niaka), and contemporary movement (Marietta Manaroli). The performance utilizes depth-tracking sensors and live-feed cameras to create a constantly evolving audiovisual landscape.
My Role (Live Sound Support & FOH Mixing): During the live performances, I was responsible for the final audio output and house mix. My work focused on:
FOH Console Operation: Managing the stereo feed from the performer’s live setup to the house sound system.
Real-time EQ & Dynamics: Actively performing EQ adjustments and tonal balancing during the show to optimize the sound for the cinema’s acoustics.
Gain Staging & Level Control: Ensuring consistent volume levels and headroom throughout the performance, maintaining the balance between the sub-bass frequencies and the melodic elements.
System Calibration: Setting up and fine-tuning the 2.2 speaker configuration (Tops & Subwoofers) to handle the high dynamic range of the electronic score.
Sound Design / Foley
For this project, I was responsible for the complete audio rework of the short film, including sound design and Foley.
The focus of the project was on extensive Foley work, recreating physical movements, textures, and environmental interactions to bring the visuals to life and enhance realism.
All Foley sounds were designed and recorded from scratch, with careful attention to detail, timing, and narrative support.
In terms of sound design, my main goal was to achieve a high level of realism, ensuring that every scene sounded as close to real life as possible. Special attention was given to natural dynamics, spatial consistency, and subtle details, allowing the sound to support the visuals organically without drawing unnecessary attention to itself.
This project was created for training and portfolio purposes, showcasing my approach to sound storytelling, synchronization, and immersive audio design.
Sound Design
I am a huge fan of Rick and Morty, and as a sound designer, I couldn't resist the urge!
I took a short film from the Rick and Morty universe of Adult Swim and decided to give it my own sonic treatment. This was a purely personal, fun exercise to pay homage to the series and experiment with the sound elements that make it so unique—from the crazy dimensional noises to the distinct sounds.
In this project, I personally handled all aspects of:
Sound Effects (SFX) Design: Creating and implementing all the specific, "cartoon-style" and sci-fi sounds.
Atmosphere & Ambiance: Building the sonic environment of the scenes.
Mixing & Mastering: Achieving the final auditory balance.
Note: This specific project is fan sound design and is not officially affiliated with Adult Swim or the creators of Rick and Morty. It is a tribute from a fan to the world we love!

Sound Design / Foley / Voice Over
Thesis of my Music Technology BA ( 2025 )
The practical part of my thesis focuses on the sound re-design of the animation "Irradiation." This project involves three key areas: Sound Design in Post-Production, Foley, and Voice Over .
The main challenge of this project was to reinterpret the animation through sound, crafting a new narrative layer that enhances its atmosphere and elevates the aesthetic experience for the audience. By carefully designing and integrating sound elements, I aimed to complement the visual storytelling while immersing viewers in a unique auditory landscape.
This project represents not only a technical exploration of sound engineering but also a creative process of using sound as a powerful tool to evoke emotions and redefine cinematic meaning.

Project team collaboration “OuterTunes":
Examines the impact of acoustic conditions on recordings of three musical duos in seven indoor and outdoor locations.
Information and actions taken for the completion and promotion of the project:
· Locations: Cave, Theatre, Living Room, Home Studio, Garage, Mountain and Rooftop
· Duos: Venus Effect ( guitar and vocals ), Horns ( saxophone and trumpet ) and Rappers ( two vocalists )
· Recorded, mixed, mastered and synchronized audio and video for each performance.
· Designed three videos for each duo, showcasing changes in performance locations
· Presented the project on ‘’Beyond Silence’’ music technology exhibition at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation.
· The project featured a custom-built interactive console, allowing viewers to switch performance locations in real time. (Although I was not involved in its development, I ensured its seamless integration into the presentation.)
