Background and History

Three years ago, Estrela’s life was marked by tragedy and violence. Her father was a member of the Cross, but also a traitor, and her mother was trapped in a cycle of alcoholism and drug addiction. Their home was a place of misery, and Estrela witnessed the harrowing end of her parents’ lives. Just before the Cross came to find and execute her father for his betrayal, Estrela’s mother took her own life, leaving the young girl in shock and trauma.

In the aftermath, Aeris, a member of the Cross, was faced with a heart-wrenching decision: to kill Estrela or to take her in. Opting to give the child a chance, Aeris chose to bring Estrela into the organization. Despite the grim nature of the Cross, Aeris became a devoted guardian, caring for Estrela with deep compassion. The sight of Estrela’s first laughter, emerging from her profound sorrow, moved Aeris to tears; it was a sound she had longed for, a glimmer of hope amidst her own emptiness.

Aeris’s initial plan to enroll Estrela in a specialized school for young members of the Cross was quickly abandoned when she saw the cruelty of the other children there. Instead, Aeris chose to keep Estrela by her side, nurturing her with love and care. Over time, Estrela’s life transformed from one of despair to one of joy and security, living a dream life with a mother who cherishes her deeply.
