Since 1939, the Society of Martha Washington (SMW) has hosted Laredo's annual debutante ball. This prestigious event introduces the daughters, granddaughters, and select guests of SMW members to society. It's a celebration that honors the historical legacies of President George Washington and First Lady Martha Dandridge Washington.
