"Your new favorite punk band might not be a bunch of snotty kids, but rather this quartet of Minnesota scene vets and parents who are royally p.o.'d at the world we're leaving those kids.”
-Chris Riemenschneider, Minneapolis Star Tribune
Get ready to dive into the raw, high energy of Minneapolis punk rock with The Silent Treatment. It’s Minneapolis rock and roll at its finest writing music that draws from the seedy underbelly of rock and roll from the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s. After playing numerous local venues and festivals, they are taking their recklessly fun live show regionally and nationally.
The band recently released their first full-length album, Suplex in 10! (2024). Recorded at The Terrarium Studio, it features unapologetic and provocative lyrics with a stripped-down sound and an intensity as subtle as a car accident. And with a band full of scene vets that sustain full-throttle energy for some complicated fun, it’s not to be missed.
The group has shared stages with Agent Orange, Henry Cluney of Stiff Little Fingers, International punk supergroup Ultrabomb (Greg Norton -Hüsker Dü, Finny McConnell -The Mahones, and Jamie Oliver -UK Subs), Dion Lunadon of The D4, Venus DeMars and All the Pretty Horses, the dB’s, and many more. Featured nationally and internationally, they receive regular airplay on The Current 89.3 FM, KFAI 90.3 FM, KVSC 88.1 FM, and WITR 89.7 FM and have been featured on Racket's "10 Best Songs of 2024" as well as being featured on The Current’s Scouting Report. The Silent Treatment is Claire Luger, Rob Sells, Dave Randall, and Keely Lane.
"Frontwoman Claire Luger - an educator and City Council member by day - channels Joe Strummer and Kathleen Hanna by night with ace backers Keely Lane (Trailer Trash), Rob Sells (Low Rats) and Dave Randall (Kinda Kinky), smartly smarmy and blistering boisterous debut album."
-Chris Riemenschneider, Star Tribune
"On this terrific garage-punk quartet’s new album, Suplex in 10!, singer Claire Luger is all snarl and attitude, takes on white supremacists, exurban moms, and other such disreputable types with blunt aplomb."
-Keith Harris, Racket
"This Minneapolis punk band’s music will collide into your face with a wall of sound... and return with their first full length that packs a wallop. Their first single “Cornerstone” is short and sweet and reminds you what it’s like to be in the mosh pit after a couple of drinks."
