This conceptual paper explores why increasing awareness of implicit bias doesn’t always lead to behavioral change. Drawing on the work of Betsy Levy Paluck, Jeff Sherman, Stacey Sinclair, and Jennifer Richeson, and others. The project examines how emotional defensiveness and self-regulation may hinder attitude change. We propose a new theoretical model to better understand this gap between knowledge and action better better.
