St. Charles Tutoring Lab is led by Dr. Johnel Bryant Robinson, a dedicated educator committed to expanding access to academic opportunity and helping students reach their full potential.
Through direct experience working with high school students, Dr. Robinson has seen that many students are capable of achieving more when given the right structure, support, and guidance. This insight led to the creation of programs like CLEP Camp, designed to help students take ownership of their learning and earn college credit early.
The mission behind St. Charles Tutoring Lab is to:
Help students build strong academic habits
Provide access to college readiness opportunities
Support families in navigating the path to higher education
Create systems that encourage independence, consistency, and confidence
Dr. Robinson’s approach focuses on:
Structure + Flexibility → Students need both guidance and autonomy
Independent Thinking → Students should understand, not just complete
Responsible Use of Tools → Including ethical use of AI
Consistency Over Perfection → Progress comes from habits
Many students have the ability to succeed but lack a clear system or roadmap to get there.
St. Charles Tutoring Lab was created to provide that structure—through tutoring, academic programs, and resources that empower both students and families.
Dr. Robinson is committed to helping students:
Build confidence in their abilities
Develop discipline and strong study habits
Access opportunities to earn college credit early
Prepare for long-term academic success
