Saint Joseph

This is St. Joseph --- the only member of the Holy Family who wasn’t perfect, but he was radically holy. In his humility, St. Joseph was afraid to be the father of Jesus. He didn’t think he was capable, but when the angel Gabriel appeared to him in a dream and told him not to be afraid, he courageously took on the role of protector of the Holy Family.

St. Joseph was the only saint called to the divine vocation of protecting Mary and Jesus. Although he was a human not conceived immaculately just like you and me, he received special graces through his obedience and trust in God’s providence with which he fulfilled his mighty ask, and Jesus was born to us.

Lastly, his work on earth, although short, was very purposeful and when it was done he was freed of his vocation and departed from earth. In God's plan Jesus’ crucifixion was of utmost importance to create a path for our salvation and so we should always be thankful for every creation we cross path with in our lives as they are all a part of God's plan for our salvation, keeping Jesus at the heart of our everyday life.
