Ringberg Castle
The conference will be held at Ringberg Castle, a scenic location in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps (Germany) overlooking lake Tegernsee.
Accommodation at the Castle with full board will be booked for all participants. Room fares for 2027 are available on the Castle website. We kindly ask you to pay for your stay directly on site at the end of the workshop; Euro-, Master-, and Visacard are accepted, however EC-cards and cash are preferred. Please note that, due to the limited room availability, students and postdocs will likely have to share rooms.

Tagungsstätte Schloss Ringberg
Schloßstrasse 20

Ringberg Castle is located south of Munich, conveniently connected to the city center with regional trains.
By plane
The most convenient airpot is Munich (MUC). Alternatively, you can consider landing in Frankfurt (FRA), and reaching Munich with an high-speed train (ICE, ~3h40). From Munich airport, you can reach the city center via S-bahn trains (lines S1 and S8, duration ~40 minutes) from where you can reach Ringberg with a regional train (see below).
By train
The closest train station to Ringberg is Tegernsee, connected to Munich Hauptbahnhof (central station) with the regional train RB57. The service is frequent, with trains running every half hour from 9 AM to 8 PM (and every hour from 6 AM to 9 AM and from 8 PM to 11 PM). The train ride from Hauptbahnhof to Tegernsee is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. We will organise taxi pick-ups from the train station, grouping people by arrival time - a Google form will be circulated in due time.
By taxi
The way from Tegernsee station to Ringberg Castle is around 7km. Unfortunately, there is no public transportation reaching the castle, but taxis are available at the station. Note that taxis only accept cash.
Own car
In winter time, the road up the castle might be snowy, so winter equipment (snow chains or a four-wheel drive vehicle) is highly recommended. In case of bad weather conditions, it is also possible to use the lower winter car park (see this youtube video for more information).
Other accommodation
Attendees reaching Munich or Tegernsee before Monday 25th, or who wish to stay a few extra days, will need to organise their own accommodation. There are several options for local hotels in the area - at this link you can find some recommendations.
