Hey Ya'll! Welcome to OakenLake creations. My name is KS Adams, and I am originally from Knoxville, TN. I love pretty much all genres of music, I replay the same 3 video games all the time (Skyrim, Fallout, and Baldur's Gate 3), I'm definitively a cat person, and my toxic trait is that I'm not a Star Wars girly (do love some Mando though, gotta admit.
I worked as a middle school English teacher for most of my career. While you may think I retired because of the kids, you couldn't be more right. I retired because they are not receiving proper education due to a system that is built to ENSURE children are left behind. I retired because I was told it was pointless to teach grammar to 8th graders because they should have learned it in elementary. I retired because kids deserve better. One day, I hope to make a real difference.
I've been lucky enough to travel in many parts of the US and outside it as well. Learning about other cultures and seeing how things, how people, can be better than what my upbringing showed me is what inspired a lot of my work. Much of that is reflected in my novel, The Resurrection Curse: Dovetail. I started writing after I lost my brother in 2021. It all sort of just flew out of me and before I knew it I had 60% completed the first part . I stopped when I went back to work, and had to prioritize making money. Then, I quit in Feb 2024 to take care of my Nana. Losing her kind of took all the fight out of me.
Going to the Gathering hosted by NorseForged (norseforgedgathering.com) in May 2024 brought some of it back. From there, I wrote the last lines in August 2025 and will have it available online soon. I'm so excited for this series, and am already in the process of writing more. Thank you for reading, until next time, adventurers!
