This Privacy Policy explains how Codestreaks LLC ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information when you use the Reset mobile application ("App", "Reset"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. WHAT THE APP DOES
Reset is an AI-powered accountability app designed to help adult users (18+) break compulsive habits, including phone compulsion, alcohol use, cannabis use, nicotine use, doomscrolling, adult content compulsion, and sugar consumption.
Reset provides daily AI-generated accountability briefings personalized to your progress, an Urge Button providing real-time intervention when cravings hit, an AI Coach for 24/7 chat-based support, streak tracking for clean days across multiple habit categories, personal progress analytics and habit insights, and educational content about habit formation and dopamine.
Reset is a self-help and habit-building app. It is not a medical service, not therapy, not a substitute for professional treatment, and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a licensed professional or a crisis hotline immediately.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Account Information
We collect the following based on how you sign in:
Email and Password: Your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
Sign in with Apple: Your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email if you choose to hide your email). We never receive your Apple password.
Sign in with Google: Your name, email address, and profile photo. We never receive your Google password.
This data is used only to create your account, verify your identity, and give you access to the App.
b) Profile Information
To personalize your experience, we collect your first name, your age confirmation (you must confirm you are 18+ to use Reset), the habit category you are working on (phone, alcohol, weed, nicotine, doomscrolling, adult content, sugar, other), your "why anchor" (a free-text reason for starting your reset), your trigger window (when cravings typically hit), your commitment level (curious, committed, last resort), and your previous longest streak (self-reported).
This information is used solely to generate personalized AI briefings and improve your in-app experience. We do not share this data with advertisers or third parties.
c) Usage Data
We collect data about your interactions with the App to provide core functionality, including current and historical streak counts, slip and relapse events (date and habit category only), urge button taps (timestamp and frequency), daily mood logs (if you choose to log them), briefing read receipts, AI coach chat messages, and feature usage patterns.
d) AI Coaching and Third-Party Processing
AI Coaching is off by default. The first time you open the app, a screen titled "Before you start" explains what is sent, to whom, and asks you to agree before any data is transmitted. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → AI Coaching.
When AI Coaching is on, Reset sends the following to Groq, Inc. (a third-party AI inference provider operating servers in the United States) solely to generate your coaching text: the messages you type into the coach, urge, and slip-recovery screens, plus your days clean, streak length, the habit you are breaking, your "why anchor," your trigger window, and your recent mood logs. We have enabled Zero Data Retention with Groq, so Groq does not store your inputs or outputs after the response is returned, and Groq does not use your data to train AI models. AI outputs are saved to your Reset account for your reference and encrypted at rest. Groq processes this data under its own privacy policy (https://groq.com/privacy-policy), which provides protections equivalent to those described here.
When AI Coaching is off, Reset sends nothing to Groq and remains fully functional using built-in, non-personalized guidance for the daily briefing, urge button, coach chat, and slip recovery.
e) Subscription Information
We offer weekly, monthly, and annual premium subscriptions. All billing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We never collect or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or any financial data. We only receive your subscription status (active, expired, cancelled) to unlock or restrict premium features. Subscription management is handled via Apple's StoreKit and RevenueCat for entitlement validation.
f) Analytics and Diagnostics
We collect anonymous, non-identifiable data to improve app performance, including device type and operating system version, app crash logs and error reports, general usage patterns (such as which features are used most), and aggregated retention and engagement metrics.
This data cannot be used to identify you personally. We use Firebase Analytics with IDFA tracking disabled by default.
g) Device Information
We collect basic device information necessary for app functionality, including device model and OS version, app version installed, time zone (for delivering daily briefings at the right local time), and language preference.
We do not collect location data (GPS or otherwise), photos or camera access, contacts, microphone audio, health data (HealthKit), browsing history, other apps installed on your device, phone number, or biometric data.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to provide and operate Reset's core features (AI briefings, urge button, coach chat, streak tracking), generate personalized AI content based on your profile and progress, authenticate and secure your account, manage your subscription access, improve app stability, performance, and features, respond to support inquiries, detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the service, comply with legal obligations, and conduct crisis safety monitoring (suicide, self-harm, and violence detection for safety routing only).
We never sell your personal data to anyone, share your data with advertisers, use your submitted text or AI conversations for marketing, share your habit category or streak data with third parties, or display advertisements within the app.
4. CRISIS SAFETY MONITORING
Reset includes safety features that detect crisis content in your inputs. If you mention suicide, self-harm, harm to others, overdose, weapons, or domestic violence, the App will immediately display crisis hotline resources (988 in US, 116 123 in UK, 13 11 14 in Australia), will not attempt to coach you through the crisis, will log the event in your account for safety auditing purposes only, and will never share crisis events with third parties (except as required by law in cases of imminent danger).
Crisis logs are retained for safety auditing and are never used for marketing, analytics, or advertising.
If you are in immediate danger, please call emergency services in your country.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Reset relies on the following third-party services:
Google Firebase: Authentication, cloud database (Firestore), crash reporting, analytics. Privacy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Groq Inc.: AI text processing (briefings, urge interventions, coach chat). Privacy: groq.com/privacy-policy
RevenueCat: Subscription validation and entitlement management. Privacy: revenuecat.com/privacy
Apple App Store: Subscription billing on iOS. Privacy: apple.com/legal/privacy
Google Play Store: Subscription billing on Android. Privacy: policies.google.com/privacy
These services operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We have data processing agreements in place with these providers to ensure your data is handled according to applicable privacy laws.
6. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
All cloud data is stored via Google Firebase with encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with industry-standard salt rounds. Authentication uses OAuth 2.0 for Google and Apple sign-in. The App communicates with all servers over HTTPS only. AI-submitted text is not retained on AI provider servers after processing. Your account data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure (primary region: us-central1). Database access is restricted via Firebase Security Rules. Crisis logs are stored with additional access restrictions.
No system is 100% secure. While we implement strong protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of any data breach affecting your personal information, as required by applicable law.
7. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND CANCELLATION
Premium features are available via subscription plans:
Reset Weekly: $9.99 per week
Reset Monthly: $34.99 per month
Reset Annual: $129.99 per year
All plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. After the trial, your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
All billing is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device settings. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, then Apple ID, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play Store, then Profile, then Subscriptions.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No partial refunds are issued by Codestreaks LLC. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple or Google directly, per their refund policies.
8. ACCOUNT DELETION
You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time. Reset complies with Apple's App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v) requiring in-app account deletion.
In-App Deletion (Recommended): Open Reset, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. Confirm deletion. Your account and all data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
Email Request: Email us at support@codestreaks.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request — Reset" and confirmation of your intent to delete using your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through your device settings before requesting account deletion. Crisis event logs may be retained for up to 7 years as required for safety auditing, but are anonymized after account deletion. Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days after deletion.
9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Reset is rated 18+ and is intended for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
Reset includes an age verification gate during onboarding requiring confirmation of 18+ age, Terms of Service requiring users to be at least 18 years old, and content related to alcohol, cannabis, nicotine, and adult content recovery that is not suitable for minors.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@codestreaks.com and we will delete the information immediately.
10. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and data, restrict or limit how we process your data, request a copy of your data in machine-readable format (portability), object to certain types of processing, withdraw consent for data processing, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
For European Users (GDPR): You have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California Users (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold. We do not sell personal information. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@codestreaks.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.
11. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our third-party service providers operate. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with applicable laws, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for data transfers from the EU, adequacy decisions where applicable, and additional safeguards for sensitive data.
12. AI-SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES
Reset uses artificial intelligence (large language models) to generate personalized content. You should know that AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. AI responses are not professional medical, psychological, or legal advice. AI does not replace human therapy or professional treatment. AI may make mistakes, so use your judgment when following suggestions. AI conversations are not confidential in the medical or therapeutic sense as they are processed by third-party providers. AI cannot intervene in real-world emergencies, so always call emergency services for immediate danger.
We continuously work to improve AI accuracy and safety, but we cannot guarantee that AI outputs will always be appropriate for your situation.
13. NOT A MEDICAL SERVICE
Important: Reset is not a medical service, not therapy, and not a substitute for professional treatment.
Reset does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical or psychological condition. Reset is not a substitute for therapy, counseling, or medical care. Reset should not be used as your sole source of support for habit recovery. Reset cannot prescribe or recommend medication.
If you are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, suicidal thoughts, mental health crisis, or substance dependency requiring medical detox, please contact a licensed medical or mental health professional immediately. In the US, call 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. In the UK, call 116 123 (Samaritans). In Australia, call 13 11 14 (Lifeline).
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this page, notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email, and continue using your data under the old policy until you have had a reasonable opportunity to review changes.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
