THE RECEIPT CLUB
Terms and Conditions
Last updated October 2026. These terms apply to every booking.
"We" and "us" means The Receipt Club. "You" means the person who books.
1. Booking and payment
● A booking is confirmed when the 50% deposit is paid. Not before.
● We hold a date for 48 hours while you pay. After that it goes back on the calendar.
● The balance is due 14 days before your event. We email the invoice.
● If the balance is not paid by the due date we may cancel and keep the deposit.
● Book at least 3 days before your event.
● Prices are held for 30 days from the date we quote them.
2. Cancelling
When you tell us
What happens
More than 14 days out
Full refund, deposit included
7 to 14 days out
Deposit is kept, nothing more to pay
Less than 7 days out
Full hire fee is payable
Moving your date follows the same rule and depends on us being free. One free move if you tell us more than 14 days out.
If we cancel for any reason other than your breach of these terms, you get every dollar back.
3. What you provide
● One standard power point within 5 metres of the booth
● About 2 m by 2 m of flat, dry, level floor
● Cover from rain, wind and direct sun at all times
● Safe, lit access for us to load in and out
● Any venue approval, permit or parking we need
If we arrive and any of this is missing, and it cannot be fixed on the spot, it counts as a cancellation with less than 7 days notice.
4. Time
● Setup takes about 45 minutes before your start time. Pack down takes 30 minutes. Both are free.
● Hire time starts at the time on your booking, not when your first guest arrives.
● If we are delayed by something outside our control, we make the time up where we can.
● Extra time on the night depends on us being free. Ask us, and we will tell you the price before we start.
● Bump in or bump out outside 8 am to 10 pm may attract a fee. We tell you before you book.
5. Delivery
● Free inside 30 km of Sydney CBD.
● Beyond that, we quote before you book.
● Venues with stairs, no lift, a long carry or paid parking may attract a fee. Tell us when you book so there is no surprise.
6. The booth and your guests
● The booth stays where we put it. Do not move it.
● You are responsible for your guests while the booth is on site.
● We can pack down early, keeping the full fee, if there is abusive behaviour, a real safety risk, or damage being done. We will always try to fix it with you first.
● Do not put drinks on or near the booth.
● Children should be supervised.
7. Damage
● We photograph the booth and kit at setup and at pack down.
● If something is damaged or missing, we contact you within 24 hours with photos and the repair or replacement cost.
● You may pay by bank transfer within 7 days.
● If it is not paid, we charge the card you used to book, up to $800. We never charge without telling you first.
● Normal wear is on us. This covers damage beyond that.
8. Paper and prints
● Every package includes the paper listed on the price list, and we leave a spare roll on site.
● We do not say unlimited prints. Thermal paper is a real cost and we would rather give you a number.
● If the night runs long, extra rolls are $55 each. We tell you before we charge anything.
● Thermal prints fade in heat and direct sun. Keep them out of the sun and out of a hot car. This is how the format works, not a fault.
● Your digital gallery is the permanent copy.
9. Photos and your gallery
● Your gallery link is emailed the next day and stays live for 90 days. Download what you want to keep.
● You may use your photos however you like.
● We may use photos from your event to promote the business. Tell us in writing before your event and we will not.
● We are not responsible for anything guests choose to photograph.
10. Privacy
We collect your name, contact details and event details so we can deliver your booking. We do not sell your details. Card payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
11. If something goes wrong
● Very rarely equipment fails. If the booth cannot run at all, you get a full refund.
● If it runs for part of your hire, we refund the part you did not get.
● Our total liability is limited to what you paid us.
● We are not liable for anything outside our control: blackouts, floods, fire, storms, venue closures, strikes, road closures, illness, or a public health order.
● If any of those hit, we offer a new date first. If no date works, you get a full refund.
● We carry $20 million public liability cover. A certificate is available on request.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a guarantee under that law applies and cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of resupply.
13. General
● These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales.
● If we change these terms, the version you agreed to on the day you booked is the one that applies to your booking.
● Paying the deposit means you accept these terms.
