Title: The Healing Mandala (Painting)
This artwork for me spells healing. From the imperfect lines to the handmade artwork, there is a lot of healing in this painting.
I love the imperfection in this painting. It does not follow any patterned format but is freeform handwork.
I call it the Healing Mandala :)

Title: Kinship (Photography)
The person is gone but the love remains. This photo was taken the day my niece was born, and the photo shows my mother holding her when we visited her in the hospital. My mother passed away from cancer two years later, in 2015. Photos like these are especially precious, don't you think so? The photo was taken using black and white film and my Hasselblad 500c camera.

Title: Nature (Sculpture)
Nature has been a part of this world since the beginning. No matter how much civilization has grown, eventually like all abandoned monuments it will be reclaimed by nature.
Flowers growing from the stone cracks, centuries have passed, the faces of statues long worn down from erosion, yet it is still a sight to behold.

Title: Art Therapy (Photography)
Taken during my last trip to Muar at the Umbrella Alley. It’s a beautiful place for photography enthusiasts go for some art therapy. Old shop houses and wall murals leave you nostalgic … like going back in time.

Title: Digital Art - Aum (Digital Printable Art)
“ॐ” or “Aum” is considered to be the primordial sound of the universe. It is the sound that resonated at the time of creation of the universe. By chanting Aum, the mind and body align with the breath that allows the person to elevate to a higher level of consciousness. This elevated consciousness facilitates the mind to focus and steer towards spiritual realization.
The semblance of Aum is also seen in the Judeo-Christian “Amen” and the Islamic “Amin”, used by followers when praying to the Divine.
The three curves of the ॐ symbol represent the three states of consciousness, waking state, dream state and the conscious state. The crescent represents maya, the illusion of the material world, whereas the dot indicates enlightenment.
To chant Aum, one needs to be in a relaxed and undistracted state. After a deep breath, the “A” syllable is started from near the diaphragm, followed by the “U” sound through the throat, and finally with the “M” sound from the crown of the head. More than technique, the intention is important to chant “Aum” and connect with the universe and the Divine.
This artwork is designed to facilitate meditation and chanting. The lotus flowers, which have great significance in Hinduism and Buddhism, are a calming sight, to help the mind relax and focus on the Aum symbol in the centre.

Title: Home Sweet Home (Drawing)
This artwork representing me & my family members. I’m from a small family that consists of old parents & a younger brother. After many years of loneliness & empty heart in Singapore, I decided to go back Malaysia to stay with family members. They give me unlimited love & care; fill up my empty heart & brighten up my life. I found security & felicity with them by my side.

Title: The History of Singapore (Drawing)
This artwork is about the history of Singapore from 1965 to now. I used the expression of stamps to show the events that took place in each historical stage of Singapore. The stamps have a collection and commemorative value, so the idea of collecting stamps is used to make the Singapore map.

Title: My Family (Handicraft)
This is my very first attempt at handicraft during pandemic lockdown in 2020, it represents my loving family: My husband, Myself & My 3 boys. The dolls are made from hand sewing using socks, stocking, cotton, buttons & bell with 2 resin name tags specially made for the parents’ dolls. Working on handicraft has brought me calm & serenity, diverting my attention away from the pandemic situation & the daily statistics shown in the daily news. It also brought me hope in looking forward to the festive celebration. As shown in my handicraft attire for my boys, they are in Ox attire. The two in similar attire represent my twin boy. It was intended to get ready to welcome the 2021 Year of the Ox.

Title: Faith, Love and Hope (Sketch & Watercolor)
For the past 3 years, many sacrifices were made all over the world, for the sake of humanity during Covid-19 outbreak. With Faith and Love (depicted by the hands of various people, blue iris flower and white orchid), it influences Sacrifice, be it losing the freedom of going out everyday to life changing sacrifices of frontliners, having to fight the virus head on day and night. All these then lead to Hope (depicted by white and yellow lilies), as our sacrifices gives us the assurance that we will be able to get over this pandemic one day. I have chosen to use watercolour as the medium as water has memory literally and metaphorically, and this pandemic is bound to be engraved in history and in our minds as memories.

Title: Shades of Nature (Drawing)
“If you love nature, you will find beauty everywhere” – Vincent van Gogh.
How true! Even a fallen bark from a tree or a withered leaf possesses such beauty if only one will take time to observe it with patience and genuine interest. Isn’t this the same when it comes to maintaining a relationship? We need to show genuine interest and spend time with our loved ones, and to appreciate the little things and people we have in our life!

Title: Integrating Love (Painting & Craft)
Each yarn is representative of the life stages that we each go through. They are intertwined, interlocked and weaved to form the uniqueness in each of us.
For ex-abusers, re-entry into society is a daunting task especially in today’s changing labour market and shifting social and cultural landscape. Love, from their families as well as from volunteers, members of the public is essential to help them reintegrate to the society, to their social circle and to their families. I hope each of them can be like the flowers, independent, integrated and blooming in their field.

Title: Roots Connection (Drawing)
Love begins from the day I am born.
Swaddled by two cultures, the batik that soothed me was long gone.
My love for it often reconnects when I visit my roots, a strategy that disconnects me from the stress.
I randomly pick, doodle and mix any medium from the nearest pouch or container, for my ‘love’ to be born again in whatever form or mess.
