The Presidential

Book Club

At Fraser Public Library, we have a variety of themed Book Clubs. Each group meets monthly to discuss the book of the month.

However, the Presidential Book Club is the only non-fiction club. And, our goal is to gain insight about each United States President, in order, from George Washington to today. We will trace the forming and expansion of the country from colonial days to the ever-changing present day, from writing the Constitution to interpreting what it means, from defending our country to defending other countries. We will discover facts about each President, his virtue and experience, the administration of his term, and his impact on the future of this great nation.

For some Presidents, there is difficulty finding enough copies of a single biography, or there are just too many from which to choose. For some, there is an excellent publication we should all read. Club members may always choose any book about the current month's President, but for some months a particular title will be suggested.

Join us on zoom.us to discuss our books for the current month's President on the first Monday of the month (unless it is a national holiday like 4th of July (celebrated) or Labor Day. Call the library to get connected with the club, 586.293.2055.

As a result, we hope to build a greater awareness and understanding of who we are as Americans and our position of leadership in the world. Let's find what makes us unique and understand the importance of self-government and responsibility by studying each of our chief executives.
