"I think that Trench is an immortal of some kind, and that Eli's (as he is an Orphan) parents were either murdered by trench and he got Harry Pottered with his parents using magic to defend him and ended up absorbing some of the magic, or he could've been a sacrifice gone wrong which ended up with his parents dead and the volatile nature of trenches magic as we've seen so far taking sentience and deciding to defend Eli (ala dark mode) or he is a direct descendant of Trenchy boy."

"I feel trench is gathering artefacts for some reason or another, maybe his form is not his true one and is trying to regain it as he was sealed by the monks or something (more on that later) or his sealing is directly tied to the hotel, which I feel is a sentient energy that speaks through the building made by the monk as a dark magic preventative, kinda like a nuclear weapon alarm that alerts people to upcoming threats that was made by the monks. I also feel that the ancestors/parents of the party (specifically Luz, Ava and Eli) were part of the hotels previous "avengers initiative" which is why they have all died, they stopped trench in the past and went their own seperate ways only for trench to have survived somehow and took them out one by one to have less resistance for his plans in his future."
