About the PIX

What is "The PIX"?

THE NETWORK // The PIX is a playlist network consisting of several playlists, each where I showcase multiple genres of electronic music from various artists--including myself--within multiple different playlists, with the rare occasion of a mix following them! 

These playlists are mostly self-run by me, but I also like to invite others to contribute to them in some way with their picks, whether for Yearly PIX or PIX Alliance.

THE HISTORY // PIX was originally established in 2017 on SoundCloud with two playlists: Winter Mix and Summer Mix. These playlists consisted of tracks that I picked out that were appropriate for the season, which I originally planned on making a mix for them. Sadly, this never happened (for a good reason, I'd assume, considering that those playlists were made before my production style and workflow completely changed), so I instead just kept adding tracks to them. 

Despite everything mentioned, these two playlists were made in 2017, 2 years before "The PIX" became a thing. This is where I made both Winter Mix and Summer Mix officially part of the PIX collection, renaming them to just Winter and Summer for PIX All-time. In 2019, the first actual installment of PIX was made as part of the Yearly PIX series under the name "2019 Wrap-up", which consisted of my picks for 2019 before the year's end. This was the same for every episode of Yearly PIX from 2019 and ongoing, which, between years, the Yearly PIX series became a thing in 2022.

THE NAME // The name "PIX" isn't anything special, really. It's just something I randomly came up with as a play on the word "picks", which--as you might've guessed--just indicates some of my favorite music I heavily enjoyed from any given period.
