Dr. Pascoe earned his PhD at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Peter Pare and Dr. Chun Seow. His PhD thesis focused on understanding mechanical and molecular alterations to airway smooth muscle that may contribute to asthma pathology. After his PhD, he completed a 3 year post-doctoral fellowship in Dr. Halayko's lab at the University of Manitoba. During his post-doc, his research focused on understanding the role of oxidized phospholipids in asthma. It was also during his post-doc that he developed his independent research program investigating the role of the early life environment on asthma risk. Dr. Pascoe joined the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology and the University of Manitoba in late-2019. He was promoted to Associate Professor in April 2025.
Dina joined the Pascoe lab in October 2022, as a laboratory technician in the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology. She received her BSc in Biomedical Science from The University of Salford (Manchester, UK) and her master’s degree in Immunology from University of Manitoba. She recently completed her graduate studies with Dr. Neeloffer Mookherjee’s research group at The University of Manitoba, where her research focused on investigating sex-related differences in allergen-mediated airway inflammation, in the context of asthma.
Sriyani joined the Pascoe lab in May 2022, as a MSc student in the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, completing this degree in 2024. She received her BSc degree specialized in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Her PhD project focuses on understanding how maternal diabetes influences airway smooth muscle contractility using animal models, iPSC, and spatial sequencing. Sriyani has been supported throughout her training by Research Manitoba studentships.
