Notes: Fantastic HD capture of Zara's Juliet debut! Minor obstruction from one head blocking the right of the stage but worked around well. Minimal wandering and washout and just a few brief dropouts, particularly in the boring scene with all the men because my hand got tired. Full show is captured but the first 5 minutes are filmed very poorly, after the first song I move seats and the quality improves. Act 2 starts about a minute in.

Recorded from the main floor (table 319 to be precise) which is also unusual for these. Starts with 11 minutes of Jon Peterson as Emcee from the National Tour (different performance than the 2000-08-26 video). The BW video is missing the first minute or so of WIlkommen and the curtain call is missing. Also has 30 minutes of other musical clips after, the first being another Michael C Hall performance.

Notes: This is the only publicly released video recording of this acclaimed, sold out production with the original West End revival cast. This was my first time recording and as a result mistakes were made. Foolishly, I set the exposure to automatic so the recording suffered from spotlight washout (I haven't made this mistake since). The washout has mostly been fixed in editing as it's impossible to fully correct. The recording has more zooms than I would like to prevent further washout. Fortunately, this production is minimalistic and performance focused so it doesn't hinder the overall experience of the show. The recording is mainly filmed in close ups and mediums. A head is sometimes visible in the wide shots of the musical numbers. Recording includes the curtain call and marquee.

It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. There is some chatter from the kids in the audience, but the sound is otherwise excellent. Notes: An absolutely stellar tour cast with fantastic performances all around. Some great nuanced interpretations of the characters make the show fresh. This capture is nearly perfect with just one dropout toward the end of My Shot that lasts less than a minute. There is one head that occasionally blocks the actors' legs on the right side of the stage. It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Notes: Beautiful HD video of the new Broadway cast of Hamilton! There are a few drop-outs and obstructions here and there in Act One but overall it's worked around. Act One is mostly close-ups and starts at Laurens' rap. Act Two picks up in the middle of "What Did I Miss?" and features both close-ups and wider shots. I did move during intermission so Act Two has almost no obstructions, but honestly I don't even care. This performance - this cast - deserved to be captured on video. The colors pick up gorgeously, my favorite parts of the staging are captured just right, and I even rested my camera on my backpack to help steady it when I was overcome with emotion and shaking. Just wow.

Notes: A fantastic capture of this lavish production. It's refreshing to see different faces in the lead roles, and both Nathaniel and Earl carry the show well. Nathaniel's vocals are powerful and he has a great rapport with Caissie and Samantha. A lovely capture overall with no obstruction. Look Down is mostly blacked out and there are a couple quick dropouts during The Bishop scene and Lovely Ladies, but the show is otherwise fully intact. There is also some washout in high contrast wide shots. It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

Notes: Closing night on Broadway! The final Broadway show performance! Lots of energy from the cast and audience! Denise Wood gave a nice speech after the curtain call. A good capture overall, there are a few heads that can be seen at the bottom of the screen throughout the show, but it is worked around and doesn't block more than the actors feet. There are about 3 minutes of blackouts during miracle, and a few other quick dropouts throughout the show. Telly is partially captured. Its filmed in 16:9 with a mix of wides, mediums and close-ups. Notes: A blind stageshot filmed from the front row so therefore there are no zooms (except for accidental ones), but I tried my best to pan towards the action despite not being able to see. The camera occasionally points at the ceiling or the action is obstructed by the height of the stage, but for the most part it's a pretty solid video, all things considered. The worst of it is the rehearsal scene after Only/Material Girl through Crazy Rolling, where it's essentially a glorified audio but I didn't want to cut it out because there were some great moments there. Heavy washout and wandering, and heavy shakiness every time I pan the camera and every time I clap. Minimal dropouts, but the most notable one is when an usher decided to physically lean over me to tell the people next to me to stop taking pictures.

Notes: Mild shakiness and washout. Some blur but nothing too distracting. Very minimal obstructions and wandering, and only one dropout towards the end. During Sympathy for the Duke there are two little “spasms” of the camera—one where I adjusted my grip on my camera and another where someone walked down the aisle and it scared me. Also the beginning of the Nature Boy scene was a mess but who cares.
