Short Bio

Theodoros Tsiftsis was born in Lamia, Greece, in November 1970. He received the degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1993, and the M.Sc. degree in Digital Systems Engineering from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K., in 1995. Also, he received the M.Sc. degree in Decision Sciences from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece, in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2006. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Informatics and telecommunications at the University of Thessaly, Greece. He has authored or co-authored over 270 technical papers in scientific journals and international conferences. His research interests include the broad areas of wireless communications with emphasis on 6G communication technologies, ultra-reliable and low-latency communication (URLLC), reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA), physical layer security (PLS), and optical wireless communications.

Dr. Tsiftsis served in the Editorial Boards of the IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, and IEEE Communications Letters. He is currently an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing. Prof. Tsiftsis was appointed as an IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Distinguished Lecturer for two terms (2018-2022).
