Glenys MacLeod, B.Sc., B.Ed., P.B.D.E., M.Ed., Ph.D. is the Executive Director of the Learning and Outcomes Branch with Manitoba Education. Prior to this appointment, Glenys’ educational and professional experiences in Manitoba’s education system include early, middle, and senior years classroom teacher, high school special education resource teacher, district numeracy support teacher, vice-principal, and university course instructor. She studied Expeditionary Learning for Inclusive Education as a model for all students to explore authentic problems within their communities while developing the skills, knowledge, and spirit of learners for life.

Dr. Verena Roberts is a passionate online and blended K-12 educator, instructional designer consultant who completed her EdD in Learning Sciences with a focus on K-12 Open Educational Practices. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary and an Instructional Designer with Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning. Her research interests include learning design, open learning, open educational resources (OER) and pedagogy (OEP), participatory learning and the ethics of educational technology. She was a 2018-2019 OER Research fellow and 2018 Global Open Graduate Network (#GO-GN) member. Verena has taught and designed online/blended courses and consulted about curriculum and technology integration from pre-K to Higher Education in Canada and the United States. She has consulted, facilitated and developed a wide range of open networked learning projects with a focus on OER and designing for learning in any environment with the Callysto Project, the UBC ETS Learning Design Team, mozilla, CANeLearn, ERLC and iNACOL. Some of her open projects include cMOOCS like #Digifoot12, #ETMOOC, #OCLMOOC, the ABOER K-12 Multiplying K-12 OER project as well as the #Gamified project.
Nicole is an experienced educator and instructional designer who is passionate about integrating technology to create, collaborate, and connect. Her research has focused on open educational resources and open educational practices and how they can both be used to increase accessibility and engagement. When in a classroom setting, whether that be virtual or face to face, she leans into student-centred inquiry projects, STEAM challenges, and design thinking cycles.
Dylan Woodcock is a member of the Open Education team at Campus Manitoba. In his role, he guides university and college faculty across the province on flexible teaching/learning initiatives, particularly the implementation of Open Educational Resources. Dylan is motivated to enhance higher ed. programming using open practices and pedagogy. Prior to his appointment at Campus Manitoba, he was a Language Arts instructor for the Canadian Armed Forces. Jane was an entrepreneur before she began her journey in education. She was the owner of multiple franchises, a sole proprietor and invested in real estate. Jane moved into education when she realized she wanted to share her knowledge of business with kids. Jane worked at Institut collégial Vincent Massey Collegiate for 14 years where she taught: entrepreneurship, marketing and many other business courses. Jane created relationships with the Asper School of Business and Red River College to link high school students to the world of post-secondary. She moved on to become the technology consultant for Pembina Trails School Division and after a few years became the Principal of PTEC (Pembina Trails Early College).
Jane is also certified as an iPEC coach and enjoys using this approach to problem-solve with staff and students.

Margo Beatty is the Workplace Learning Coordinator for PTEC (Pembina Trails Early College) in Pembina Trails School Division. For the last two years she has connected grade 10 students with tech industry partners for workplace mentorship and project-based learning experiences. Margo has been an educator for over 20 years with a focus in high school mathematics.
Marie Hacault is the Program Manager for Youth Programming at Tech Manitoba, arranging workshop facilitators for coding camps, connecting youth with potential employers, fostering mentor and mentee relationships, and most recently developed in conjunction with the tech focused PTEC high-school, project-based mentorship programming. Marie has been involved in experiential and project-based learning for the past 10 years, matching industry with education predominately in project areas of entrepreneurship and technology.

Developing a Project-Based Learning Model school-wide at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate has been my dream job! Starting seven years ago by developing the model, and then implementing this program year by year has been very exciting as staff, students, and community have enjoyed its success. I am currently the principal of NMC, and we continue to invite new ways to help students find their voice and become self-reliant, confident, life-long learners.

Matt Henderson is Assistant Superintendent of the Seven Oaks School Division in Winnipeg. He is also an instructor at the Faculty of Education at the University of Winnipeg and a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba.

Matt is an educator specializing in applied and project based learning. Throughout his various teaching assignments as an Industrial Arts teacher and as a Project Based Learning teacher he has continually worked towards creating learning environments for students that experience freedom in the way they learn through exploration. He now brings these organizational skills to the Teacher Education Program at Red River College.

Dr. Michelle Lam is the Director of BU CARES Research Centre, an applied research centre in the Faculty of Education at Brandon University. She is interested in anti-racist educational interventions, and the role that education plays in promoting equity in rural areas.

Jacqueline Kirk, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership and Educational Administration in the Faculty of Education at Brandon University. Prior to completing her Ph.D. in Educational Administration Jackie taught K-12 classes in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, served as a high school principal, and worked as a school division consultant in technology and in leadership. Her research includes topics in rural education, leadership, and technology.
Matteo Di Muro is a doctoral student at the University of Regina and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pedagogy and Curriculum at in the Faculty of Education at Brandon University. Previously he has taught mathematics and computer science for 10 years in Brandon School Division and also served as their education technology specialist for one year. He is interested in ICT and technology in education, STEAM in education, rural education, and the psychology of learning.

Maribeth Tabanera aka Kilusan (she/they/siya) is a queer Filipinx femme multi-disciplinary educator, artist, and community organizer.
A life-long learner, they have focused their energy on diving deeply into their passions of dance, music, education, social justice and community building. Maribeth is the full-time Internship Coordinator at Seven Oaks Met School and Maples Met School in the Seven Oaks School Division, and an instructor with Graffiti Art Programming. They are also currently a member of Kultivation Festival, Seven Oaks Filipino Employees Association and Manitoba Association of Dance Educators.

Stephanie Spence is a Research Assistant at Brandon University. Stephanie is a first year, mature student enrolled in pre-nursing. In the last couple years, I have found a great passion in understanding my Indigenous heritage as well as helping other people understand it. Research within this field is what originally sparked my interest in becoming a research assistant, however, having the ability to research a wide array of subjects to broaden my knowledge, and help others broaden theirs, is a life skill that I think is necessary for everyone, and I can’t wait to have a part in making this happen.
Devon Caldwell is resource teacher and a PhD Candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at University of Victoria. She co-founded KG Education with Leah Obach to support educators with a unique blend of professional learning and teacher wellness.
With over twenty years of teaching experience, she is an award-winning early years teacher with a passion for wellness, project-based learning, collaboration, and technology infusion. Devon is a sessional instructor in Brandon University’s Faculty of Education and a certified yoga instructor.

Leah Obach is the Literacy with ICT Teacher Leader for her school division, responsible for coaching K-12 educators in their efforts to infuse technology and inspire authentic, rich learning. She co-founded KG Education with Devon Caldwell to support educators with a unique blend of professional learning and teacher wellness.
Leah has a Master of Education degree in Educational Technology and Design and this award-winning teacher has experience teaching at the early years, middle years and high school levels. Leah prioritizes lifelong learning and wellness.

Adriano Magnifico has taught senior high school English and career development for most of his career. In 1995 he created the Career Internship Program, a multi-awarding winning interdisciplinary program that meshed career development with traditional courses that continues to flourish in LRSD.
He is chair of the LRSD Career Development Committee, member of the divisional Leadership Team, and creator of the Tigers’ Den Entrepreneurship Conference. He sits on national executive committees with CERIC and LMIC and a working Assessment Group with the CCDF. He is president of the Manitoba Association of Teachers of English (MATE) and on the board of the Osborne Village Resource Centre.
Adriano publishes the occasional article on career development and English language arts, writes for the local community newspaper, and has won awards for his short stories. He has completed a Master of Education, a Professional Logistics designation (P.Log.™), Change Leadership designation (PCE™), and a PACE Career Employment Coach Certificate. He specializes in connecting with disengaged or ‘stuck’ learners in high school, post-secondary schools, and workplaces, ever seeking insight and strategy to keep them curious and engaged in their futures.

Akira Sakaki, a 2021 Windsor Park Collegiate grad, is currently enrolled as a post-secondary student in the Broadcast Media Program at the Louis Riel Arts & Technology Centre in Winnipeg. He co-produces the Adventures in Careerland podcast in the program as he develops the media, creativity, and tech skills to help him explore a career in graphic design and/or broadcasting.
