As a student who strongly values inclusivity of all types of learning styles and communication methods, I am open to being an ally of the neurodiverse community so that my school will become a safe, accessible space for all students. Through these efforts, I hope to deconstruct our societal view of “normality” and provide inclusive support to those who have been categorized as anomalies to the conformity culture. Abandoning the lens of medical models, our group designed creative projects around awareness to increase the appreciation for diversity at SNP-Reach!

As someone who is extremely interested in neurodiversity advocacy, I joined SNP-Reach because neurodiversity is an approach to understanding and appreciating the diversity of human brains and minds. I think it recognizes that there is no "normal" way of thinking or processing information, and extends a feeling of belonging to everyone. As someone who has neurodiverse friends and family members, I’m excited to learn more about the different ways people's brains work and how we can create more inclusive and supportive environments for everyone!

Hi! As a junior in high school, I have my own art club dedicated to creating art projects that both neurodiverse and neurotypical students can do, called art4SPED. Also as I am currently working on an app to support the neurodiverse community, I wanted to join SNP-REACH and be a part of this project to broaden my knowledge from the perspective of doctors, professionals, and autistic individuals who were able to give me more insight that I can put forth in improving my club and app to make a positive impact on my community.

Hi, I am Audrey a senior from Milpitas High School in California. I reason why I joined SNP-REACH is because as a person with dyslexia I wanted to learn more and help the neurodiverse community.

As someone who plans to pursue a career in neuroscience, SNP-REACH has opened new doors and pathways for me to understand the world of neurodiversity. This program has helped me understand different issues with our society as well as ways we can aid in giving comfortability and safety to those who need it the most. I'm forever grateful to be apart of this team and hope to inspire and help others through our website!

What is normal? As someone who has always pondered this question, I joined SNP-REACH to both explore this societal phenomenon and deepen my understanding of neuroscience, which I am also passionate about. Being a part of this camp has greatly expanded my perspective on neurodiversity, accessibility and, most of all, inclusivity. I'm very proud and grateful to be able to work on a project that educates with the neurodiverse perspective at its core!

Hello, I'm Ella and I joined this program to help better educate myself and others on neurodivergency and ableism surrounding it, as well as how to combat the latter.
Junior - California
I was inspired to do this project by the people in my family who are neurodiverse and I wanted to participate in something that has the potential to educate members of our society in order to create a more informed and inclusive future.
