The Negative Spirit is sentient but it cannot communicate very well. Its concept of communication is abstract. It is based more on ideas than anything else, and images second. Any of the senses, really, but not words. It observes Larry and those around him using words, and it is connected to his mind, so it can really study how Larry uses it. But it still has a problem using them and prefers to communicate to Larry telepathically through dream manipulation, although it is difficult for him to decipher and frustrates him. Lately, it has been exploring written communication. Its previous attempts back in their home universe were mixed. It worked, but it presented them in a weird way and it could mostly do one word at a time. Here, it has gone for more words, and is figuring out how to type from watching how Larry does it in the chats. It is difficult for it to operate the keyboard, though, and despite doing its best to contain it, its electric-like energy has caused some damage to Larry’s phone’s keyboard and melted it somewhat. Larry has since replaced his phone and is trying to see how well it could use gloves to lessen the damage. Its first attempt at this took a lot of energy out of it, though, and it had to go dormant to recuperate for several days.

Powers

Flying, energy beams, limited immortality for it & its host. Makes its host radioactive. Telepathic projection and connection (it can connect two characters' minds together both through touch - to non-host individuals with non-host individuals or with host - and remotely - for host with someone the host knows well; it also can control/project dreams and memories specifically for the host). Um. It also glows blue. 

For most of the time together when it leaves Larry’s body, Larry would pass out instantly. Now, though, as they’re working through their issues and learning to communicate, Larry is able to stay conscious for longer. Usually just a few minutes, though, and then Larry will pass out if it does not return before that point. Also if it stays away for too long past the point where he passed out, both it and Larry could start dying.

Powers it grants to its host

The Negative Spirit is in a symbiotic relationship with its host, Larry Trainor. Due to this bond, it suspended its host’s aging process, giving him limited immortality (longevity). When this happened, they were in an accident that gave Larry burn scars over his entire body. Another benefit of his limited immortality is that he no longer needs to eat or drink, and he is more resilient than an ordinary human. He can withstand great temperatures both hot and cold. He is also radioactive, and he has bandages all over his body that block the radiation. If he takes his bandages off at all and someone else is in the room (which he would never knowingly, willingly do), they will likely die painfully from radiation poisoning within minutes unless they are somehow immune to radiation.
