You may consider your family and friends represent one giant tree with many connected branches. Maybe you all get together over the holidays. Or your family may be split up or deceased and your friends don't know each other, in which case, part of your forest may be several smaller trees that each need your attention.
Other common components of your forest may include: career/school, emotions, religion, pets, art, food, sports, and others! Note, the forests pictured above represent the relative ratio of important to less important, rather then the exact number.
The simplest way to think about this is: How do you spend your time? If you divide your time between a career, friends, family, and religion with very limited time for anything else then you might be a forest with several giant trees (option E. above).
