The Boat Women Project is an ongoing work in progress, and my way of shining a light on the incredible women who’ve chosen to make the waterways their home ~ whether they’re solo, partnered, working, retired, raising families, healing, rebuilding, or reinventing.
This is a co-operative book and storytelling project - not about perfect houseboats or Instagram-ready sunsets, but about you: the courage, creativity, and quiet moments that make life afloat what it truly is.
If you’re a woman living on a narrowboat, widebeam, or any kind of floating home, I’d love to hear your story.
You can share as much or as little as you like - the aim is to create a collective portrait of modern women on the water, to inspire others who are dreaming of life afloat.
Every contributor will receive a free copy of the finished book, and we’ll even vote together on which boating charity will receive a portion of the profits. 💙
It'll probably take about 15 minutes to share your story. There are questions to guide you, and you don’t have to be a writer - just be yourself. Whether you’ve been moored for years or still finding your flow, your story matters.
The aim of this project is to together, inspire the boat women who are to come after us, the one's who are on the brink but not quite sure. It will be honest accounts from the women who are living this lifestyle, showing what life on the water really looks like - the grit, the grace, and everything in between.
