Be vigilant of your surroundings.
People are often distracted by their phones or other things when walking. You should always be aware of your surroundings to spot when something is off.
Do not trust strangers easily.
Traffickers often approach people and offer them a job, or some kind of opportunity, and traffickers are everywhere. Not trusting strangers is a must, since you never know what they want. If you are going to meet a stranger that you met through a dating app, make sure your meetings are in public places, where you can get to know them first.
When feeling endangered, ask for help.
If you think you are in danger or are being followed, go into a public place, such as a store or a restaurant, and approach someone for help.
Use social media wisely.
You should always be suspicious of strangers approaching you on social media who offer you advice, a job, education, or anything similar. If someone sends you repeated messages, check your privacy settings and block them.
Trust your instincts.
If a situation makes you uncomfortable or makes you feel like you are in danger, trust that feeling. You can always also share your location with friends and family when you are alone.
