Role Summary:
The Lead Volunteer provides overall leadership, vision implementation, coordination, and accountability for The Mustard Seeds. This role ensures the ministry remains aligned with its mission, diocesan policies, and parish oversight.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversees all programming, leaders, and volunteers
Serves as the primary point of contact for families and parish staff
Ensures adherence to safety protocols and diocesan requirements
Coordinates schedules, events, and formation plans
Communicates with parish leadership and partnering organizations

Youth ministry best practices training

Role Summary:
Assistant Leaders support gatherings by facilitating activities, small-group discussions, supervision, and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
Support community nights and events
Help lead discussions, games, and prayer
Model Christ-like behavior and boundaries
Assist with youth supervision and logistics
Pray for participants in the community
Training Required:

Adult Volunteer – Mentors
Role Summary:
Adult Mentors walk alongside youth through relational presence, encouragement, prayer, and example.
Key Responsibilities:
Build consistent, trusting relationships
Offer guidance rooted in faith and life experience
Support youth spiritual and emotional growth
Pray for participants in the community
Training Required:
Diocesan Safe Environment training
Mentor formation & boundaries training
Role Summary:
Youth Assistant Leaders serve as role models and helpers while learning servant leadership under adult supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with activities and games
Help younger participants feel welcome
Support group logistics and setup
Learn leadership through guided responsibility
Pray for participants in the community
Training Required:
Youth leadership orientation
Ongoing mentoring by adult leaders
Youth Volunteer – Mentors
Role Summary:
Youth Mentors intentionally support younger participants through presence, encouragement, and example.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive peer relationships
Model faith in everyday life
Support activities and discussions
Share personal experiences that model modern-day struggles in following Christ and living out one's faith
Pray for participants in the community
Training Required:
Youth mentor training
Adult supervision at all times
Role Summary:
Prayer Partners support The Mustard Seeds through intentional prayer for youth, leaders, families, and events.
Key Responsibilities:
Commit to regular prayer
Receive prayer updates and intentions
Support the spiritual foundation of the ministry
Training Required:
Orientation to mission and prayer guidelines
Assist when additional preparation and support are needed.
Support Areas May Include:
Event preparation and setup
Resource and errand running (e.g., pizza pickup)
Media and photography
Communication coordination with partner organizations
Donation and sponsorship outreach
One-time or short-term tasks
Training Required:
Task-specific orientation
